WTH! New enemy in Gears!

Ok so I just watched the Gears 3 trailer and my hopes have sunk. Why oh why have they decided to put in a third wheel enemy? This looks like some tacked on Flood enemy and will probably be even worse than the flood in Halo, if that's possible. What the heck is it with developers wanting to put crab-insect enemies in games that run around in packs, biting your heals and being more annoying than fun to fight. It wouldn't surprise me if we had some arbiter-type level where we have to take the role of a Locust soldier who probably becomes best friends with Marcus. Gee this annoys me...antlions, flood, headcrabs and now this. Also what is it with Dom looking like a drunken, homeless person? They better not screw this up.

Well first off maybe you should wait to see some gameplay before you judge this new enemy. Also Dom probably looks like that because time has been so rough to him. I mean you would not be looking all clean if you have been fighting what seems as a never ending enemy. Also [spoiler] Didn't Dom also lose his wife in Gears 2? [/spoiler]

I hope they not flood like. Though I didn't mind wretches and tickers so who knows. Also, I love insane drunken hobo Dom :Dlocopatho

New enemy is the Lambent which was mentioned in previous games. I would be pissed if COG allied Locust to get rid of Lambent but according to the trailer it is a full 3 ways war.

Features

• Rod confirmed 4 Player Co-Op in the Gears IRC, with 4 unique characters. Rod confirmed that co-op includes Marcus, Dom, Cole, Baird and a "variety of other characters". Cliff confirms that at some points in the game you will play as an entirely different squad (that includes no Marcus and no Dom).

Story

• The story is written by fantastic author Karen Traviss, who wrote the Gears of War book series
• Set 18 months after Gears of War 2, and after the fourth Gears of War book.
• The Coalition has disbanded or dismantled. Everyone is essentially a Stranded.
• The Locust have not been seen in the time that has passed since the end of Gears 2 and the beginning of Gears 3
• The location shown in the "Ashes to Ashes" trailer is a location nicknamed 'Char', where the remains of victims from the Hammer of Dawn strikes are heavily present.
• Imulsion is infecting everything, not just the Locust. The Lambent are a ton of different nightmarish creatures.

Characters

• Dom is now heavily bearded. According to Rod, this is due to his problems dealing with the loss of his wife.
• Anya is the female COG soldier seen in the "Ashes to Ashes" trailer. We will learn more on her transition from pencil pusher to soldier throughout the books.

Enemies

• Lambent Locust: These enemies mutate and transform as you fight them.

wow this opens up a whole new level of depth to the game, now you can like.. shoot other stuff in the head as well, and it dosent look the same like those other dudes:o
