XNA is for people who want to try out developing.
LBP is a game.
How the **** do you compare those two?
asdasd
isnt the point of LBP to make your own game using features in the game?
well i would much rather create my own game from scratch then use other peoples already created objects and environments

you realize that the average gamer isnt gonna have even close to the kind of programing skills required for something like this...and that probably includes you as well.

Yeah uhh, this thread really is pretty stupid. Seriously what's up with all the stupid threads judging games that have yet to come out. I'm mean really, does it make you feel better about your system?

No, you can make your own levels and play through them with your friends. You dont make an entire new game. Just levels.. Look stuff up before bashing it in a thread

Well you can go to Garage Games and form a team. So if you know atleast one aspect of game development you can make a team and create a game on XNA. Btw XNA uses C# not C++.
LBP is a great nifty little game. All XNA communioty games will be is a very very weak copy of PC freeware sceneAdrianWerner
Thats extremly insulting to Indie developers including myself. A XNA game is only limited to talent, and there is a **** load of talent in the Indie community.

Is there ever a post that you make that doesn't stink with extreme biased? I'm confident that Dishwasher is a higher quality than 99% of the freeware junk that can be found around the internets.

Do you even know what you are talking about? C++ is a start peice language. You CANNOT build a game with just C++. C++ is bacis programming. And for the topis question, LBA=$60 XNA= $100, $60 looks better then $100
I don't have the programming skill for XNA so therefore it's worthless for me. LBP looks like a hell of a blast and I will be purchasing it.Udsen
Are you good at art? Music? writing? anything? Cause if you are like I said you can join other indie teams and do that aspect of the game, you dont have to make a game on your own.
The fact is XNA is going to result in the same thing cows are praising LPB for but with more variety, depth, and scope.
It won't be dressing up sock puppets and have them knock over rocks over and over like LPB.
JiveT
the fact that more then half of the xbox users dont know a single thing about programming means that it wont be as accepted as lbp

LBP will have a tutorial for new-comers. Also with the community of HOME, you can gain tips from friends.

do you know what youre talking about, you can build a basic game even a 3d game using just C++, XNA uses just one programing language for code. And link me to where XNA is going to be 100 dollars

People seem to forget that LBP is created by an Indie developer, which is what XNA is developed for. So dont be suprised to see games on the level of LBP uploaded over time.

you think there isn't talent in freeware PCgaming community? It's the same thing, only that XNA will be many times smaller.
No to mention the whole idea of MS making free money off other peoples' hard work

No I never said that, you said XNA games will be very weak compaired to freeware games. With XNA community indies will now have an extremly concentrated community to show off their games unlike on random website postings.
I just went to gamedev.net and there is a game on the first page that was created with XNA and it looks great, far from just being very weak freeware. Its not a game made for Xbox but it shows that indie devs can do more than just make small 2d games with it.

I love XNA ad all but this is just fanboy rants. LBP isnt a dev env. please dont speak what u dont kno.

Erm...you're mistaking XBLA games with XNA community games.the screen youi've posted is from upcoming commercial downloadable game for 360.
And by "weak copy" I didn't mean the quality. 360 freeware scene will be like PC freeware scene , only many times smaller. Hence "weaker"
If I would mean quality I would have used "crappy" instead of "weak"

ROFL alot of games are looking good on XNA already. XNA is a REALLY POWERFUL TOOL.

and what Ive played around with seem as if it is easy to use too. Id expect some really huge indie games soon.

Thier game before LBP was Rag doll kung fu which was an independent game. They are now a company in of themselves but they created an indie game before forming the company and joining with Sony to publish the game. Its not exactly the same but they were on the level of indie devleopers.

So? That's not what you wrote. LBP is made with huge money (way above anything indie devs can afford, big pc indie devs, let alone wha XNA community devs will be) and they have 20+ persons team. So no... you won't see games like those on XNA communit games

The screen I just posted is a free PC game being released by an indie development team using XNA. Anyway we will see how much the community gets into XNA, but I find it very interesting and a lot of other indie teams do also so they can broaden their audience.
