X360 defeats the wii in UK....

Although 'Halo 3' had a headstart on San Andreas with 4 days of sales in its first week rather than San Andreas' 2 days, the launch is still very impressive, helping to more than double the sales of Xbox 360 hardware to the highest level shown this year and even beats Nintendo's Wii for the first time since week 13 this year.

also halo 3 sold nearly 450,000+ in the Uk...alone.

why did he mention san andreas?

How are they irritating? Sales = facts. The 360 is doing well this week and will do well for the month. This doesn't mean that sales are unimportant or irrelevant.

I wonder if the 360 will retake the lead for a brief period.

But I was told many times on this forum that everyone that wanted halo already bought their 360 so Halo would not sell many systems :lol:Eltroz

I thought about this question long and hard a few months ago and my answer then was that the 360 would regain the lead momentarily. However, with the way the Wii is selling now, I doubt the 360 will catch up.

Assuming the Wii continues the pace it has set in the last couple of months, it'll sell about 1 million consoles in September. Add to this the data from the chart showing the Wii leading by 700k, the 360 would have to sell more than 1.7 million consoles to pass the Wii. I don't think that happens even with Halo 3 moving so many consoles. At this point, I'm not even convinced the 360 will outsell the Wii in the US for the month of Sept. Not to say this won't be possible, but there would have to be quite a number of people who hadn't purchased a 360 prior to Halo 3.

Who says there aren't any games? Just because they're not your taste doesn't mean the games are bad. Also, in the Wii's first year, we're getting Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and SSBB. How can anyone say the game quality isn't there?
