X360 or PS3: Which platform had the better collection of games this gen?

Of those two platforms only, and aside from sales and media playback features, which platform had the better collection of games this gen (i.e. overall more quality games in various genres)?

Xbox 360 easilly

All major games are on xbox 360 mainly, besides Demons Souls

It is like 50 vs 5 against PS3, 360 just got all the best games, best versions etc and first

Considering the only games worth playing this gen are multiplats (and Forza), XBOX is my answer.

from what ive been playing...easily ps3....would be different if i liked halo...gears and forza have been underwhelming for me....i'm starting to think the lems lied to me...

I've enjoyed the PS3s collection of games this gen more than the 360s.

Looking at the numbers it's 360, fair and square.

Take into consideration that almost all 360 games I can play on my PC, PS1 games available on PStore with PS2 collections to boot the PS3 was a no brainer for me.

out of those 2 ps3 and i choose ps3 because of uncharted. but overall pc was is and will be better

The only reason the Xbox seems to have more higher scoring games is because of overrated average games like Perfect Dark Zero. You can instantly feel the huge disparity in quality between these 2 first gen games yet they both scored the same:

IMO the PS3.

Both systems play mostly the same games, it really comes down to what exclusives you prefer. I prefer Uncharted, Killzone, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4 etc....over Halo, Gears, Fable, Witcher 2 etc.....

It's just a matter of personal preference.

360 wins.

Beginning of Gen Sony Cows were all about graphics because they thought that would give them the edge, now they're all about exclusives games. But they lost both battles.

Cows lost the war when they conceded every battle and changed aproaches, conditions were changed to suit Cow Logic and even then they lost.

Now exclusives exclusives exclusives but most PS3 exclusives aren't very highly regarded by those of us who aren't single system limited.

Did Microsoft focus heavily on mulitplat? Yes, but that worked out well for them, and worked out well for gamers.

Conspiracy theorists abound for anti-microsoft offenses, but by focusing the way microsoft has multiplatform games excelled above first party games more this gen than any other. It's hard to fault them for making good investments, especially since Sony seemed to misjudge the market so many times.

In other words: Which faction has more fanboys?

I hardly played either console but I found the PS3 games more fun when I did.

So, PS3.

PS3 excels in single player

360 excels in multiplayer and single player

So I guess technically, 360 wins for me, though I've got more enjoyment from the PS3. Oh that's right almost everything I would've bought on 360, I end up getting on PC.

For someone who was picking just one, I would probably say the 360 for the great library that the PS3 didn't get like Witcher 2, L4D 1 and 2, and usually the best multiplats. Stack on some quality exclusives on top of that and you have a great machine that this guy needs to play more.

PS3, obviously. Vast amount of quality exclusives unlike other consoles.

360. Just as many high scoring exclusives as the PS3, XBLA >>>> PSN, and 360 has games like Skyrim: Dawnguard, Left 4 Dead and The Witcher 2. 360 also gets the superior versions of mutlplat games in cases such as Bayonetta, Borderlands, GTA4, Fallout, Skyrim, and Red Dead Redemption.
