Iall agree PS3 exclusives, but even on mutliplats? No way...that little 10MB of eDRAM in the 360 makes the world of difference to the jaggies.
I meant it is "even" as in balanced between the two on multiplats :PExclusives: PS3
Multiplats: Xbox360
How do you think that happened? It seems like it would be PS3 all the way.[QUOTE="clembo1990"][QUOTE="Michael324"] Better graphics?Michael324In general, yes. Which hardware is better.for games? Well that depends on your taste in games. The graphical difference is not that big. If your friends have a 360, then go for that, likewise with PS3. Deciding could be that simple.
[QUOTE="Michael324"]Was this debate ever solved? I dont remember the winner.XanderZaneXbox 360 won hands down in multplats. Both Gamespot and IGN ran comparisons and XBox 360 was on top in graphic and animation comparisons. Exclusively XBox 360 won the 1st round for the 1st generation of titles, but the PS3 edged out the XBox 360 in the 2nd round with games like Uncharted, MGS IV and Killzone 2. they are really equal, both consoles have strengths so depending on what kinda graphics you like more that console will technicly be better, if you favor sharp textures, bump mapping, shadows 360 hands down, lighting and animations to the ps3!
It'll never be solved. Or not until the end of the generation, at least.Floppy_Jimthis, i was suprised by how good god of war looked on ps2, and was one of the graphics kings of the gen despite being on the weakest hardware.
Well, opinions vary. I guess millions of people have different vision then yours. The comparisons were run by the experts more then once and the PS3 wasn't on top every time. So.. you may want to check your vision.***********************************************************

Go back and read the comparisons that Gamespot ran over the past 2yrs. If the first round XBox 360 won easily. Almost all the multiplats were in XBox 360 favor. There were a couple of game that were equal. In the 2nd round, XBox 360 still had more multiplats that looked better, but the PS3 had titles like DMC4 and Burnout Paradise that looked better on the PS3. There were also more titles that were equal. Still the XBox 360 had the edge overall.
For the exclusive the PS3 only has Uncharted, MGS IV and Killzone 2. I think Gears 2 looks just as good as KZ2. Better in some areas. Mass Effect looked just as good as Uncharted, but Uncharted was a smoother game overall. PS3 still has a slight edge with exclusives, but not by much. We'll see what Mass Effect 2, Forza 3 and Halo: ODST looks like and compare them to InFamous, GoW3 and GT5.

InFamous is not the game to be looking at, it was meant for gameplay, not graphics.
We all know it's pretty much dead even. KZ2 doesn't look much better than GeoW2. There aren't any games on console that look leaps and bounds better than anything not already out. So imo PS3 loses for the simple fact it was hyped to be a graphics god and was released a year later. Sony really failed this gen. nmaharg
I know its an opinion, but gears looks no where near killzone.... I mean just look at the comparison, killzone beats gears in nearly everything... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTvYPiEi4eU

PS3 is more powerful, but only has 1 or 2 games which show this. So it's close. Also, 360 games which push the system aren't even 1st party, which leads me to think it still has a lot of room for improvement too.Next-Gen-TecThat's true. Kind of humilating how bad the Xbox360 really is.the PS3 is 3 times as powerful (GPU is better FLOP wise and clock wise) and Cell Engine is just purely 3 times as powerful.
How can a $400 system get beaten by a system that is $100-200 cheaper in multiplats? I don't understand it. Of course, the PC beats them both in the graphics category, but still...

Because most multiplats are made first on the pc/360 then gets ported to ps3.(this is the only reason I can think of)

I own all 3 console and a 40" 1080p Sony Bravia and have to say that you are very wrong.
Most multiplats i played on both consoles had more jaggies and tearing on PS3. All my friends with PS3s agree with me on that. PS3 has some great looking exclusives though, little big planet, mgs4 for example...

Of course. Ugh. I hate playing ports of original versions of games. They usually get downgraded on some things, such as graphics.
The PS3 has better graphics in it's exclusives, and the X360 is better in multiplatforms. Most game engines out there is perfect for the X360, while the PS3 needs an own engine for the different architecture. There is no other game out on consoles that is more satisfying to look at than Uncharted, specially the water scenes..OMG. And why people keep bringing up Mass Effect is beyond me. I tried it on my PC, and it was not impressive at all.

No, you're wrong.
You need actual real time software performance stats to compare two completely differnt peices of software.
Clock speeds and theoretical peak processing power don't mean squat, a good example would be some old AMDAthlon (XP/64) vs Pentium 4 benchmarks ;)
Don't know really they're pretty much equal. But looking at the games, the 360 can handle better textures and AA, wheres the ps3 can handle better lightning and post effects... Match DrawLookAnDrolL
It seems that way. There's really no significant difference between the two.
