Look. XBL is great, I love it, but there's always room for improvement, and if the PSN has all the same features and more, for free, it's pretty safe to say MS is gonna need to step it up. That can't be anything but good for us gamers. It doesn't matter if you had it first, because if the PS3 sells like the PS2, which do you think is gonna be the house hold name?

You can boast all you want, but the PS3 and the 360 are gonna be so similar this gen, most people won't even notice. It's just going to be a matter of prefference.

The trueskill stuff is pure BS. How come when I join a game one person says he wants to gather the best of the best players and start a sponsored clan, and another person says he's only got the game yesterday? The halo 2 ranks were the only "true skill" ranks until the cheating thing. It's just pure media hype.11Marcel

Honestly... the "True Skill " feature seems to be nothing but hype for me. Seriously, sometimes I find myself playing Gears with noobs who don't know what the helly they are doing, and saying things like "Oh I just started" or something, and I've been playing for about a month or even more so, than I get to play with some players my "skill" but even then, I've found out in Uno some "TrueSkill" people are higher than me. It's not like it's a problem with Uno, but I find the feature sometimes ...imperfectyoshi_64

I am talking about a unified service across the entire platform that is embeded in all of the games. The innovation was in its implementation. AOL didnt invent VOIP it was invented in the 70's. They innovated in their implementation.

That is still to be determined. Many people are a bit quick to jump the gun considering the announcement isn't even official yet. Once it has been implemented it can then be judged, otherwise this is exactly like a game release. It could flop massively, half deliver on every promise and turn out to be a pile of trash. Or it could be an XBL beater, until the speculation stops and Sony speak...actually scrub that...untill Sony show it we won't know.

i like xbox live but lets go over some of the features.

"Universal Friends List (um... yeah... not like i did not have that already on the pc)

Custom Gamer Pic/Personal Pic (i really could care less about this.. i mean... really? does it add anything to the experiance?)

Voice Chat/Voice Messaging (a great feature.  i never minded typing on a keyboard but a good voice chat makes gaming pretty easy and fun)

Gamer Score (really could care less about this.  a good gamer score does not prove much at all.  some people with five stars are annoying as all hell and some with 3 stars are great chaps to chat with)

Achivements (hahahaha i think achivements are the most pointless thing ever.  and people that try to get them all are worse than people who have to collect every pokemon)

Demos (had them on the pc)

XBLA (not really anything new, had the sega channel, nintendo had the statlite downloadable games for the super nintendo been downloading arcde type games for free on my pc for ever.  cool feature though)

HD Movies (i download them on my pc for free a lot less mulah)

HD TV (download programs on my pc for a lot less mulah)

Downloadable Video Game Guides (you have to pay for some of these... ever heard of gamefaqs??? i can go there for free on my wiis web browser even)

Music Videos (been downloading these for a while on me pc)

Movie Trailers (been downloading them on my pc forever)

Sent Friend Request & Message through Xbox.com (yahoo messenger, msn messneger, aol messenger ect ect ect)

True Skill Matchmaking (hahahahahahahahaha biggest laugh ever.  ig et matched up in the same room with top ranked players and just bought the game noobs.  yeah... this feature is a holy grail lol.)

Cross-Platforming (they have done that?  i dont remember it yet)

Live Everywhere (cool feature)

To lose a throne someone must challenge it. At the moment we potentially have a potential challenger, in other words Sony MIGHT be developing something that MIGHT challenge XBL. If they manage it, hats off to them.
