It IS much better. And XBL is free unless you want to play online, which most people don't.Not true. There is some content that is exclusive to XBL Gold subscribers.
Nothing major. Prove me wrong. 5 million people at the end of 2005 played online. Out of 140 million online-capable consoles. The fraction hasn't much improved for the 360 or PS3. Yea the ps3 also has a blu-ray player standard and you can install ydl plus it's hard drive is bigger and upgradable making a better value than the 360 that just plays games imo. The fact that psn is free and lag free for free with free content is a huge bonus imo.
XBL: you can queue up to SIX (6) tasks to download, and go ahead doing ANYTHING on the 360 besides play online games (for obvious reasons). But it gets better folks! With the latest update, you can even TURN OFF YOUR 360 controller and console's main power and downloads will CONTINUE to go on (in the same fashion that the Wii is connected to the net using a miniscule amount of energy). When everything is completely downloaded, the 360 completely shuts itself off.
PSN: you can download a demo and navigate the PSN store at the same time. And that's about it.

1) Most people who buy movies do not give a crap about Blu Ray. DVDs crush it completely, and when it subsides in a few years downloadable content will take over. Lauding Blu Ray or HD-DVD for ANY victory is laughable. As far as games development goes, it's more of a hindrance so far.2) YDL and other forms of Linux have long since proven to run TERRIBLY on the PS3. It is a CHORE. Hell even loading it up takes long, and even then you can't really use it for anything much than surfing the net, which you can do on the PS3 browser anyway. It's a useless gimmick that no one uses seriously. PLEASE stop quoting it as an actual benefit of buying a $600 console.
3) The 360 has upgradable HD and the Elite has a 120G HD
4) PSN is lag free right now because there's barely any content and barely anyone using it. Remember how the servers crashed badly when the GT demo came out? The 360 runs on a much better service with at least 5 million multiplayer online users (not counting the silver users who download content as well). You better cross your fingers and hope that the PSN holds up when the traffic grows in a few years.

When in reality cows don't even use it because its a game in and of itself and nobody should have to play 1 game in order to play others.
People also forget about this. PSN is a free service right? Where are the dedicated servers? For Sony games yeah there will be servers, but where is the online for Virtua Tennis 3? It isn't there? No WAY! How could this HAPPEN!? Oh that's right...Microsoft usues the monthly subscription to pay for dedicated gaming servers so that EVERY game has an online element of some kind, I can't name 1 game on the 360 that has no online multi-player where the genre would promote it. I just named 1 on the PS3 within its first 8 months.

Or do you MAYBE think that it would get really annoying to have to control an avatar after a while just to do the most menial tasks? Say you are in the movie theater and want to show your friend your trophies...well let's hike ALL the way back to the apartment and go through my trophies...and then he wants to go to the arcade or whatever it is they have there? Let's hike ALL the way to the arcade...but he gets bored quick, lets hike ALL the way home and then select the game you want to play.
Home should be optional, its a cool idea, but so poorly thought out it astounds me.

Home is supposed to be just a graphical extension of PSN; it's not supposed to have ITS OWN marketplace and whatnot. And I can pretty much guarantee you that Home will not integrate with any PC IM services like AIM or Yahoo the way the XBL does. Well with the PSN you can quene as many downloads as you want as well as play a game offline while you download. Also, you can help cure caner and various other diseases while you download :)XBL: you can queue up to SIX (6) tasks to download, and go ahead doing ANYTHING on the 360 besides play online games (for obvious reasons). But it gets better folks! With the latest update, you can even TURN OFF YOUR 360 controller and console's main power and downloads will CONTINUE to go on (in the same fashion that the Wii is connected to the net using a miniscule amount of energy). When everything is completely downloaded, the 360 completely shuts itself off.
PSN: you can download a demo and navigate the PSN store at the same time. And that's about it.

XBL is great and all but PSN is more than enough for me. All I want to do is play online, download demos, trailers and additional content for games. PSN does all of those just fine and I dont have to throw down 60 dollars a year for features I will never use. I rather have an online service that suits my needs for free so I can spend that extra $60 on something I find useful.MGS9150

You realize that if that were the case, you'd probably be paying more per year than I would if I relied entirely on XBL? At least, for me, personally, I only watch a small handful of TV series (only about six or seven). And since a full TV season, or about 25 episodes, would cost only about $50-75 on XBL, I'd actually be paying only about 1/3 to 2/3 of what I normally pay for cable, since cable for me is about $50/month. The only downside is that XBL doesn't have all the series I watch yet (no Heroes, House, Lost, or Scrubs), but it's only a matter of time before it gets them.[QUOTE="xboxps2cube"]You don't watch anything for free on TV. That's a bad argument. Both companies had the exact same amount of time to develop online features. The console release date does not impact features. For example, if Sony released the PS3 in 2008, would you excuse them for not having Xbox Live features? No. (Not to mention that the PS2 was released a year before Xbox 1, so Sony had an extra year to develop the PS3.)Â
