I'm not saying one is better than the other but what really sets them apart? Besides cross game chat and pay to play vs. no cross game chat and free to play, what does one offer that the other one doesn't? I know its an old topic but it's been resparkedbetween me and some buddies because they clam "you can do so much more on xbox live." Add you two cents on which one you prefer if you'd like.

Cross game chat and party system. THATS IT.

XBL is such a rip off that only 19 people here on System Wars would actually pay money for it if online was already free.

PSN has a party system, it's just text base not voice base.

The games on demand are all severely overpriced. If sony added a bunch of PS2 games, but for $100 each, that wouldn't make PSN any better and it would be absurd. XBL does nothing better and costs more.

I have a playstatoin 3, its my dads he only uses it for the net, don't have many games for it. I find PSN network bland looking and very boring, the player profiles also look bland, its a horrible thing to look at compared to xbox live. The most worthless thing of all is Playstation Home, its like a 3rd habo hotel and a complete waste of time I hate it. I will buy a ps3 for myself one day but only for some othe exclusive ps3 titles that I like, thats is.

Xbox Live has always been better, not just "right now". You get what you pay for.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyq5yu3_dGQ This guy does a lot better job of explaining it than i can, if you can be bothered with 15 minutes of monologue. XBL is superior to PSN. The amount of content available is monstrous, and whether or not you like paying for little games is irrelevant, the fact is that they are there. Amount of people actually on XBL is much larger than the amount that is on the PS3, so you'll end up with more friends to play with and faster matchmaking. Apart from the ps3 having vidzone, the only thing better about the ps3's online is that it's free, nothing else.
