Hey people i am a new poster here at gamespot.
I wonted to talk about the 1080p res that is on the 360. I have a ps3 and a 360, and for some reason when i play games on my 360 in 1080p the games textures are blurry, ala nba street, and virtua tennis 3. and for some reason the games speed slows down a bit. With every game i play on my 360 in 1080p, it appears thatthe screen is just getting streched from a 720p res. upsclose it dosnt even look like the picture gets any better.
But when i play virtua tennis and nba street on my ps3, the games look crsip, and there is no slow down, and the game actually fits to the screen like it was a 720p game. and the game actually looks beter in 1080p. the only game that dose not look quite so good in 1080p is virtua fighter 4, which dose exactly what the 360 games are doing, looks blurry, and runs a lil slow. the same happened with sonic on ps3.
this is when i really thought of it, the ps3 is doing games in native 1080p while the 360 is doing games upscaled to 1080p. and games like vf5,and sonic on ps3 are also upscalling while games like vt3, nba street, nba 2k7, gthd, tekken dr, are all natively 1080. this puts me atthe conclusion that the 360 can not do true 1080p, but can blow up the picture to supportthe 1080p screen, but its being upscaled. But it seems like the ps3 was built for 1080p games, and can push that res natively, with no hassel atall.
also ps, did any one notcie while playing vt3 in 480p that the cutscens runs fast, but while playing the game in 720p, or 1080p the cutscens are very slow like there going in slow motion r somthing., this happens on both system.
