Advanced sales for Microsoft Corp.'s new Xbox 360 4GB bundle that includes the Kinect motion controller and game rocketed in demand upon availability at retailer Amazon.com.

The Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect bundle ranked No. 1 in Amazon's Movers & Shakers division and No. 76 in the Video Games division Tues.

I wonder how the general public found out so fast. Wasn't it just a low-key announcement made yesterday?

Between this and the 360 S, MS looks to have killed in terms of sales. Very impressive, especially because they staggered the launch.

MS was very cleaver with this bundle. It actually doesnt sound expensive

Good bundle. If I didn't have the new 360 already, I would have got this bundle.

I'm sure that the Kinect hardware will sell very well. At least initially.

Not surprising given its a new SKU. Those things usualy rank high on Amazons whatever. Anyway, I would rather have both consoles sell well comapred to one simply over selling one by a bunch. thats why I hope sales between the PS3 and 360 stay close.

Its a great bundle until you relaize that you cant do much with 4GBs and then haev to go out and buy a 170 dollar HDD to get any amount of mass storage. Personaly, until we know Kinect is good or not, I still think the 250gb SKU is the best deal.

I will forever question the 4gb internal storage though.It just seems like so little.

Also, why are we using preorders to gauge the final sales for this thing? Lord knows Preorders arenta guranteed sale, adn high preorders dont always meam high sales. Its liek looking at Amazons top whatever and saying, "See! Kinect is top 5, it wins! it wins!"

they're a great indicator of what happens at retail tho

anyways, no big surprise here, the PS3 + Move bundle just isn't competitively priced, and Sony seems more focused on advertising 3D atm

Im a "hardcore" gamer and my 20gig launch 360 still has 13gigs left on it. 4 gigs is MORE then enough for the people who buy arcade 360's. They dont HAVE to buy anything.

Do you not buy alot of addons or something? I have a 120 gb HDD, and I have about 40 gbs free. But honestly, I bought alot of TV shows and isntalled liek 4 games.

I do not buy many game addons because they are overpriced and don't offer enough content to warrant the purchase. as for media usage i have Netflix so i don't really have to DL movies. I do install games, but only for a short period of time when i have just purchased the game and am playing it alot, then delete.

I agree with you. I've pre-ordered games in the past and backed out at the last minute, sometimes losing my deposit (especially if the game doesn't look good). And this is only on amazon, which is the easiest way most people pre-order and may be just the technology lovers that pre-order this. The true casuals will likely stay away.
