My 3rd time getting the "Please reconnect your controller" message, batteries are all new and the controller is a month old. Happened to 2 previous ones too, im fed up already, i have to keep shelling out money for MS and their low quality crappy products. Why cant a multi billion dollar company just spend some money on higher quality production, had a wii for a year and dropped the controller and threw the controller numerous times without a problem, have a ps3 from 2007 and never had to replace the system or the controller. The lowest quality console i ever had, sorry im just mad about paying money for MS fault.

edit: after about 20 flameshield postsfrom lems, i did some moreresearch and its a very common problem. just google it, you get about200k results.

This has never happened to me. Ninja Gaiden 2 is to blame for most of my broken controllers.

It's your battery pack, buy a Play and Charge kit for 20$ and you'll be fine. I've had two controllers do that to me, cause my sister dropped it on the floor and messed up the battery pack.

I have 4 wireless controllers and 1 wired. This has NEVER happened over 5 years. And I have thrown controllers to the ground numerous times during fighting games. The ONLY thing crappy about a 360 controller is the D-Pad. System wars is for discussion. Not omg omg omg lets make up fake stories and spread lies cuz im a fanboy who HAS TO LIE! I own 360, PC and PS3. Never had an issue with either console, only PC issues.

Own a 360 since launch and never had that issue. Sure it aint a 3rd party controller you are using? or a replica from china?

it is. if you got a problem with the d-pad of the ms controller, go with razers onza. Im at there gamescom section on razer .comand I see the 360 controller on there, and I think its the final version for the controller.

also is the dude facing Alacatraz from crysis 2? and who is he?

actually no... this is the first time I have heard of this problem and I know plenty of people with 360s. I also have 3 controllers myself and this has never happened.

I've used the same controller pretty much every other day for the past three years and it still works.

My PS2 controller broke after 6 months. Does that mean they're all crap? No.

hmmm I smell cow....but hey I'll play along. Logic would say if you in fact do have 3 controllers failing on the same system for the same reason, it's probably not the controllers. Check the IR sensor on the front of the system,Maybe it's dirty or smeared up. I'd clean it with some alcohol.

cool story, im really amazed by your experience as it has sooo much to do with me  and my wallet, your a fail.

Yeah, and we're all impressed with your fake story. You really think anybody here believes you? Like we're expected to take your word for it,l simply because you came here and said so? You need to prove your statement or its pretty much worthless.

On a side note, seen that Razr controller before. Would seriously consider picking one up. It's d-pad looks schweet :)

Your batteries are whats faulty. I have 4 wireless controllers with each having a rechargeable battery and never had problems. Mind you mine are at least 4 years old.

haha, just like all the stories about "i had my system since launch and it never red ringed" yea okkkkkk, nice attempt at making yourself feel better about your racehorse with the gimpy leg. the lowest quality system i ever had in my life.

This isn't about the console's RRoD issue. We all know that does exist. So far you're the only one to claim this controller battery issue, and as such, the claim can't be substantiated. You have no credibility, so you no matter how you try to deflect the retorts, your story will be seen as fake here. Just look at the responses :)

I've had problems with controllers with every console I've ever had except the N64 and the original xbox, honestly. It was the worst with the PS2 and Gamecube though. I went through seven controllers with the PS2, about five or so with the Gamecube. The analog sticks always kinda screw up. I've had issues with my 360 controllers too, but not as many and not as bad. I've only gone through controllers for the 360. First two have slight issues with the one analog stick each. The problem isn't major with either. But I have issues with the battery packs for each like the TC. Most of the time it works but if I turn rumble on the controllers shut off when they rumble. My current controller is alright for the most part but every time it rumbles my friends tell me my mic makes odd sounds so I've turned rumble off.

i edited my original post thread, go read it, you got owned as i proved you all wrong, this is a common issue.

First link to a gamespot thread with only a handful of posts, all evidence pointing to weak or faulty batteries.

Second link to xbox faqs page, also pointing to weak or faulty batteries.

Nothing about an actul fault in the controller itself as all incidents can be remedied with a change of batteries. Nice reseacrh there :) You haven't proven anyone here wrong at all, nor proven the legitimacy of your claim that its the controller itself which is at fault. Your fake story status still stands :)

another case of a child covering his ears and going.. " La la la la la la la la laaa". its NOT the batteries, i put in new batteries, its the cheap ass controller.

YankeesNYC4life

But if your one of the very few who seems to be having this problem, then on an average its not the controller. Maybe you got a lemon, maybe you made it up, maybe the stars aligned and the batteries you put in were all faulty. But as an outlier does not prove an average, and making grand statements about overall quality based on a single experience is short sighted on a nice day...

Everybody else says the problem is fixed by changing batteries. Including the references you listed in your OP edit. You say it's the controller itself.

Just buy more of the product that should be decent enough to work the first time? seems like a pretty bad solution.

P&C kit is crap anyway.

I frequently have the same issues the TC does with my controllers. Heck, even my charge kit that came with a charge cord died on me within 6 months. The thing can't hold a charge for longer than an hour, so I have to keep it wired whenever I play. TC's not the only one with this issue, people.
