Try simple Mortal Kombat 3 moves on 360 d-pad. God aweful. Scorpions hook shot is so much harder too pull off, and he flips backwards a lot of times. And its only a double tap move.Vicious_T
I think it retails for $60. But I'm sure you can find it cheaper. It's an official HORI product, so it's quality. TekkenMaster606Do I have to order it online?
Anyone playing fighting games "seriously" with a DPad is fighting an uphill battle. The only decent DPad ever made for fighting games on a console was the Japanese version of the Saturn pad, even that pales in comparison to a good stick. if you don't play with a stick you're not that serious to begin with - so you really shouldn't care.
Hes right the d-pad sucks, good thing its only ever used for weapon selection, and 15 year old XBLA fighting games.Riverwolf007
Even that doesn't go so right all the time. I don't know why they made that thing so cheap...It would have made a perfect ccontroller otherwise...

Yeah, it's one of those WTF things. Still, even with a junky D-Pad it's the best controller ever. Perhaps they will achieve perfection next time.
this is like the 100th "XBox 360 gamepad is bad 4 teh fighting games" thread. Has anyone here tried the Madcatz retro arcade stick?

I'm just wondering how that would work for street fighter/mortal kombat...etc. Also, I wish Hori would make a stick that would work with both 360 and PS3(and also be backward compatible to PS2). From what I've read, the Hori PS3 joystick doesn't work with PS2 games running on the PS3. That is disappointing.
like I said, using 360's d-pad for fighting games is like using chopsticks to eat soup.xxThyLordxxWhat is the deal with chopsticks anyway? With all their civilization and knowledge of math / medicine / philosophy and much more, how do you not invent the fork? For that matter, how did the Aztecs (or was it Mayans? Whatever, advanced civilizations both) not invent the wheel?
