Ive been watching all of E3, and am totally stuck between deciding on which console to buy and invest in. What I'm really asking is what console do you think has a brighter future in gaming?

My reasons for desiring each console,

Playstation 3 160G: Final Fantasy 7 download, Final Fantasy 13 Online, motion remote, Blu-ray, Enternet, Free online play, Playstation home, Some kind of TV service, God of War 3, PSP sync capatability.

Xbox 360 Elite (red): Netflix, Natal, Halo ODST, Marketplace, Mass Effect, Halo Reach, Live TV, and I know a few other things are coming to the Xbox 360 in the future but I'm not sure what it is.

What are your opinions on which you think will be the superior console in the future? Oh yeah, please tell me If there is anything else that I missed coming to the Playstation 3, and the Xbox 360 in the future.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with a 160GB PS3. Just get the 80GB one for $100 less, and if you need more space, get a drive on the cheap and swap it out.

Just look up all the exclusive games for both systems and decide from there. Pro's and Con's for both systems and the features you will MOST likely use. Good luck

A plus for the PS3 (at least for me) is that it allows you to update your hard drive to a bigger one without losing the warranty and also install linux on a side partition where you can play SNES and Sega (and even Lucasarts games using the ScumVM!!) games via an emulator on your HD tv! :)

I agree with the guy that said get the 80gb. Go for the 80gb then just buy a harddrive and upgrade it yourself. The PS3 works with any standard 2.5" sata drive and it's not an issue to upgrade it yourself. And since it looks like you like Final Fantasy I would lean towards PS3. You get Final Fantasy VII, FFXIII, FFXIII Versus and FFXIV.

Well since you already own a PS3, according to your signature. Would that make this thread a little on the worthless side?

Brighter future in gaming? That should be obvious its the PS3. Look at the Exclusives coming in the next few years. Get a 80gig its less money and you can upgrade the harddrive, i put a 500gb in mine.

Tecnically they are about the same: Gears2, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Forza3 = Killzone2, Uncharted2, GT5, God of War3 imo

The multiplats will most likelly continue to look better on 360 since its easyer to develop for

That one is easy. Everyone knows that the Xbox 360 is probably the most unreliable console ever made.

PS3.... after a while... paying for online gets annoying.

And I haven't bought a 360 game in a while ever since I cancelled Live.

For PS1 games all the PS3s will work but you need to get a backwards compatible PS3 model for PS2 games. I think you can still get the Metal Gear Bundle in some places which is PS2 BC.

This is actually not true. It isn't most difficult to develop for it just different. How a game ends up looking depends a lot on which is the leading console in the development. Games originally developed for the 360 would probably have slight advantages over the same game in PS3 and viceversa. Nevertheless many timed 360 exclusives come to the PS3 with considerably extra content like Eternal Sonata, Ninja Gaiden, Tales of Vesperia, etc.

You are probably right but my point remains. The 360 will most likelly continue being the main console for devs. I just figured that this E3 most multiplats were shown on 360

I don't understand your point, but that is because I'm out of my mind with worry. One of my best friends downloaded FF7 for the PS3, surely that's unhealthy, right? That game is over 10 years old! The horror...the horror.
