So Sony and Microsoft are neck and neck in terms of consoles sales and, despite being launched an entire year later, PS3 exclusives are only down by 20 million in total sales and are nearly 100 million sales across the entire generation, Sony has somehow failed? At least that's what you are heavily implying.
You know, if you had 100 billion dollars and I had 90 billion dollars, I think we both would have been pretty damn successsful.
I am also blindly assuming these numbers are true as you didn't bother to cite a single source.
Anyways, don't you think there ever comes a time where it's a bit foolish? Good for Microsoft for being a little more successful than Sony.
I miss the 6th gen where there was a clear winner and a clear loser.

And when you consider the Xbox was nothing, and that Microsoft managed to build it up to this, its even more amazing. Compare Sony to last gen and you can't help but feel sorry for them.
So yeah, in the grand scheme of things, it was definitely a failure for Sony. The gave away a ton of their marketshare to Microsoft and Nintendo. I suppose if you isolate this generation from the rest, Sony was quite successful in saving themselves.
