PSN ID please?
On-topic: I doubt the new 360 has a .4 failure rate....cause the ps3 slim has a .5 failure rate.

lol, seriously? Personally never had a single issue with my PS3, the xbox 360 on the other hand is glitchy as hell. I think it's sad that the majority of issues with the Xbox 360 were due to poor design choices. The 360's componenets are in a metal case wrapped in a thick plastic shell with the only ventilation - two 60mm fans, yeah like that wont overheat.

No evidence, no credibility.

This. Owning both consoles doesn't make you an expert in their overall failure rates, and saying Microsoft's console is more reliable than any other is laughable.

cant say much for Microsoft and reliability :P Windows Vista now that was one tempremetal OS :P same goes for Win98 in the early days.
Sony's no stranger to reliability issues either :P
Anyhow i can say both probably nowadays are probably just as reliable as the other lol.Had a PS2 that died after 6 years and a PS3 that died after 4months lol its just your luck imo.
Confirmed, and has been written as a System Wars Fact.Yes in the past PS3> 360, but now currently thats not the case. Now that the slim has come out, it is more reliable that the slim PS3. I own both so I would know.

there is a site anyone can go to and look up a 360 tag and see exactly what achievements have been awarded but i didn't think there was any kind of site like that for trophys.
that does not seem like a thing that sony would know how to set up or want to pay for to upkeep it.
just another blind opinion, no proof no numbers no psn id. this thread is a failure.HailCaesarHailToo bad it can't reach epic failure like this thread did: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=27532877&tag=topics%3Btitle
Overall using the entire console history the PS3 still owns.... Plus you say you own both, did you get a surge of intense energy running through your brain filling you up with knowledge of every breakdown on both consoles when you took it to the check-out? Owning both doesn't mean you know absolutely everything about them, it just means you own both...
Too bad it can't reach epic failure like this thread did: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=27532877&tag=topics%3Btitle yeah that one was too funny. so much hypocrisy and no justification. it was hilarious.[QUOTE="HailCaesarHail"]just another blind opinion, no proof no numbers no psn id. this thread is a failure.KevinnButlerNPK
Well, you have no link, but since I fixed YLOD with a hairdryer, the PS3 failure rate doesn't really matter xD

i actually had my ps3 fail on me before my 360. it was cool, though. i was under warranty and they fixed it for free. my first 360 had a disc-read error, which they swapped for a new unit. the new unit lasted for 3 years, 2 months (ugh, just out of warranty). i've got a 360 slim now. not sure what the actual failure rate is on the new models, but i have noticed they seem to run a lot quieter and cooler than the first iterations. as an aside, if you ever buy the 360 slim, and you don't want to shell out for MS proprietary hard drive, there's a hack that doesn't mess up your warranty where you can take the hard drive from the old model, strip it down, and it fits in the slim. good way to save $150.Well, you have no link, but since I fixed YLOD with a hairdryer, the PS3 failure rate doesn't really matter xD

Lol, you own both so you would know!!! I also own both, but I still trust my PS3 Slim over my 360s. Simply because Microsoft still uses the same peice of crap CD tray. I'm not saying it's a peice because it's got a tray, I'm saying that because it sounds like it's build like crap!! It still makes all the funny noises the original 360 did (the Disk tray only). I bet that is what breaks first, plus I switch games alot, should I not?:PYes in the past PS3> 360, but now currently thats not the case. Most of my friends with Ps3s got YLOD and of those who rebought a slim about most of them broke.
I had one friend go through 4 Ps3s yet I am on my 360 from 07. I mean alot of people have working launch 360s while I know a few people with working launch ps3s.
I'm glad your single personal experience is enough data for you to claim it for the 100+ million consoles of the two systems sold. What a stupid thread.Yes in the past PS3> 360, but now currently thats not the case. Now that the slim has come out, it is more reliable that the slim PS3. I own both so I would know.

Anecdotal evidence passes as sufficient enough these days?
The toaster oven that i put my ps3 and 360 discs into is more reliable than all of your ps3 and xbox360s combined

So you assume that your an expert on statistics and failure rates because you own one of both consoles. Sounds logical... /sarcasm
The original model of the ps3 had a 10% failure rate while the original white 360 had over a 50% failure rate. I assume that the slim ps3 is even better and obviously the 360 S is a lot better than the white ones.
Probably about the same now, with maybe a slight edge in favor of the ps3.
my og 60 gig is still going strong but i'm on my second 360 so the ps3 wins this battle.
too be fair there have been about 250 more games played on the 360 but still running is still running.
