Asking here is probably not the best thing ever, you'll only get biased opinions. For your kids the Wii might be best if they are young but if they're a bit older it really depends on their taste in games.

I'd post this in General Discussion. But if you decide to get a 360, I'd get the Pro version.

since its just for your kids Id just recommend getting an arcade, although it depends how oldthey are, but Arcade should do fine (this is under the assumption that they are under or around the age of 7.) as i doubt they will own too many games that need storage space, and if they do you can always buy a memory card (not hardrive) for fairly cheap, however if they are older and you may want to play it as well Id recommend going with a pro or elite.

It depends on how old your kids are and what games they like.

I own a PS3 and 360. If am playing the computer with my 13 year old sister we always end up playing on the 360 because she like the basic arcade games and the 360 has far more choice in arcade games. She sometimes plays Buzz on the PS3 but not as much now that we started to play 1 v 100 on live.

The other thing my sister doesn't like about the PS3 is all the time spent downloading updates. She wants to play a game i haven't played in ages like Calling All Car or Pain and we have to wait for a 10 minute update to happen. The 360 game updates are usually under a minute if not a couple of seconds.

I forgot to say that i would look at the price of the Premium and Arcade consoles and then take into account that if you are buying alot of games then they will need the memory so the Premium version would be better. It will be more expensive buying the Arcade version just to find out that later that you need to buy memory for it.

If you dont have an HDTV then get an 360 arcade version. The PS3 is a great system but if you're not going to watch any bluray movies then it's a little expensive.

This is true you're really wasting half the Ps3 if you don't have HDTV.

Get the 360 Arcade. If the kids break the system its cheap enough to replace. Plenty of cheap kid games(although im not saying these games are that spectacular). Or get a Wii.

If your kids are young then I would say the Wii. If not, then I would have to say the 360. I couldn't see a young child owning a PS3 or know half of its multimedia functions. Also, I would get the Arcade if you're getting the 360, I doubt they will care too much about online play and DLC.

if you are looking for games with no 'naughties' I'd suggest Viva pinata, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, any of the LEGO games. I can't really think of many more. Maybe some racing games? They're pretty safe and good multiplayer for the kiddies.

For kids? Depends on the age "maybe I missed where you said the age?"..BUT...in my house I have 2 boys 15,13. We all love the wii. Its fun. BUT none of us want the Wii for our main gaming. If I gave my kids the option, they would want the 360. The only problems with the 360 is the hardware. Get a warranty. I have now been through my launch 360 "thrown away no warranty"..and my 2nd 360 has been in for repair 4 times.

The PlayStation 3 of course. It's an amazing gaming console as well as a multimedia machine. You get Blu-ray, the best games, free online, the best and most reliable hardware. A no-brainer really.
Just get the PS3 already! So many exclusives you need to get!

Definitely get:

- Viva Pinata 1 or 2, or both

- Banjo-Kazooie: N&B

- Kung Fu Panda?

Idk there are alot of kid games for the 360. It'll be easy to spot while game searching
