X-Box 360 or support the PS3?

I've said it before, I hate microsoft.

But I can't just have a Wii.

So which should I get? Should I swallow my pride and get a 360, or should I support the (Currently) underdog Sony and get the PS3?

Now a big factor in this is whether MGS4 is coming out on the 360. If it's not, then the decision is made that much harder; because I love Metal Gear Solid.

But another question is, will there be other epic games on the PS3 other than MGS4?

Will the PS3 start releasing PS1 games for download as much as they have been for Japan? (I saw alundra on that list, and I have an itching to play that game again.)

Will Final Fantasy 13 suck?

My Brother-in-Law has a 360 and it'd be nice to be able to play online with him (Although I hate the idea of paying $15 a month for X-Box live when I can have it for free on the PS3...)
And it is rather irritating to me when I hear that multiplatform games like Splinter Cell and Orange Box have been crappily ported onto the PS3 (Those jerks.) Not to mention it doesn't seem like Valve is going to support the PS3 at all.

Anyway, gimme your opinions so I can process them into my decision making.

As much as it sounds like you hate Microsoft and would hate to do things like pay about $4 a month for XBL, i still think the 360 provides the best gaming expierience in the end. The PS3 will have it's usual games like FF13, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, but those 3 games won't be out until atleast next year. And like you said, the ports and most multiplats don't always turn out as great. The 360 on the other hand, gets the most (and usually better) multiplats, as well as a very diverse lineup up of exclusive games for this year: GeoW 2, Banjo 3, Fable 2, Too Human, and i'm sure there's tons of games already out that you missed.

edit: yeah my bad, it's not $15 a month, lol. it's $50 a year and that would be a little over $4 a month.

The whole porting thing is just something to make me mad, because it's seriously the developer's fault. The PS3 supposedly is a better console all around, there's no reason why it can't run the games at least as well as the X-Box 360.

And Warhawk looks better than Halo 3 to me; aside from the fact that I don't think you can make customized rules on Warhawk like you can in Halo.

I didn't know how to pick some months ago, so I did this:

Which exclusives?:

MGS 4, Halo 3, Mass Effect (not coming for the PS3), MAss Effect 2, Resistance, Killzone 3, Gears, Gears 2, Bioshock, INfinite Undiscovered.

I noticed I liked the xbox's exclusives most, so I got one.

Do your lists, and then decide. Don't let the "features" blind you, at the very end are the games what count.

And about paying for the online, you'll forget it soon. I don't even remember hace paying for it.

I appreciate the help, but I don't think numbers are very useful to me. I've played and loved plenty of games that weren't critically acclaimed. And I've played and hated plenty of critically acclaimed games.

When I look at reviews, I'm looking for specific details about the game. Which btw, is also why I come here to ask for opinions.

Doesn't sound like ME will, and Bioware is already working on ME 2 for the 360 and probably PC. As for Dead Rising, it's been 2 years since it came out so i don't think so.

The whole porting thing is just something to make me mad, because it's seriously the developer's fault. They have trouble with ports because the PS3 is harder to develop for. There is not doubt they can make some killer games, but it does take them longer.

Are you getting a Blu-Ray player in the future. It should be more mainstream 4-6years from now. You'll get one eventually. Might as well be a PS3.

Sure, but I have to tell you I don't own Warhawk. It's my brothers, we live in the same house so it's o.k. I play it a lot on his PS3. Alright the pluses of Warhawk, battles can be extreme! They are very action packed, you can play as a soldier, use a turret or a jet fighter. I also like the clan systems. The controls are very well designed imo. The minuses of Warhawk, the spawning positions, players like to camp. (although this could just be my lack of skill.) Also no single player, no one talks. All in all it's a great game.

Halo 3 pluses are replay editor, the tight controls (not much has changed from the 2nd), multi player nothing is to overpowered for the most part. Four player coop, and great sound.(music) Almost everyone has a Mic. (although sometimes I wish they didn't.) The minuses to Halo 3, the single player, to short. Bad storyline. (I prefer Halo 3 over Warhawk)

Keep in mind though, most of these are just my opinion.

I've actually gone over my circumstances, and I think I'll be getting the PS3.

There's a good chance I'll end up with a 360 someday, but I am a big MGS fan, so I dunno if I can do without it.

I have a Ps3 and I have plenty of games to play that are of higher quality than what is on the 360 IMO
