$200 makes a big difference when you're upgrading your PC. I could use it to get a better Video Card, or more RAM, or a host of other things.

What do you think I should do? I want to play games like Mass Effect and Fable II - I also want to get the DLC for Fallout 3 which isn't available on the crappy PS3 version.

Which would be a better deal in the long run?

I might say PC because your upgrade extends to things outside of gaming, such as the internet, e-mail, etc.

For $200 it would be smart to get a 360.

What are your current specs for your pc?

PC. Better value in the long run. You can also play Mass effect and get the DLC for Fallout 3 on it too. Games are much cheaper, run better and there is a much larger variety of games

The PC is going to cost more than $200... And I'm going to upgrade, the 360 would just be taking out of my PC budget. Right now my PC sucks, it has an integrated video card (It's a laptop.)

I don't think you can upgrade a laptop, besides getting some extra ram...

Get the 360. Now!

in my experience 200 doesn't make much of a difference when upgrading a PC

so here's how i see it:

If you're only willing to spend 200 go for the 360

If you're willing to spend at least 400 go for the PC

EDIT: Oh you have a laptop? Well then 200 won't get you anything on laptop save for a few dims or RAM, you'd be better off buying a new PC

I'd be getting a whole new PC, but the $200 that would be going toward 360 could be used to upgrade something on that new PC.

Well, you say you want to play Mass Effect and Fable 2? Mass Effect is on PC, and Fable 2 is going to PC. PC is your choice.

You can't upgrade a laptop. I say just go with the 360 and later down the road you can buy a new PC.

Yeah, you can't upgrade a laptop, so you'd be looking at a much higher price. I prefer PC gaming, but with your current situation, Xbox 360 is the correct choice.

I would say PS3 over 360 but both are good systems. I prefer console gaming over PC gaming, whichever yu prefer is really the answer.

depends what your current specs are. if you have a athlon x2 or core 2 duo upgrade you pc if you only have a single core then save another $100 and get the 360 pro (the arcade is a rip and you spend more once you buy all the other things the pro comes with)

that's bs, a good pc from 2006 can play all games better than either consoles and even a highend pc from 2005 can run games better than consoles in many games. A cheap pc with a 9800gt 2gb ram and modern dual core cpu will destory consoles and is under $500 you could get one for under $400 that kills consoles. When you look a ps3 it's been 2 years now and it hasn't really had any significant price drop while dual core cpus are now sub $100 and much faster than the budget $400 dual cores of 2006 ram is $20 for 2gb and graphics card have had huge price reductions. just because there are new graphics card out there (than only 5% of games can use) doesn't mean you have to upgrade. There is not a single game out there that a 8800gts 320 can't run on high or close to high settings and that card is now over 2 years old and was the budget 8800 series card

id take PC, its pretty much close to the 360, just much, much better... but if your into buying a really high end PC, you can might as well buy a 360... a PC that can play most now-aday games on high settings will cost at least 500 bucks, and thats if you build it... but if you dont build, it will be at least a thousand for sure

Riiight. Does the 360 have: Crysis, Crysis: Warhead, World in Conflict, Medieval 2: Total War, Empire: Total War, Project Offset, Cryostasis, World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Warhammer Online, Dawn of War 2, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Sins of a Solar Empire, Galactic Civilizations 2, Civilization: Colonization, GTR 2, Lord of the Rings Online, Star Trek Online, Flight Simulator, Spore, Sam and Max, Sims 3, etc?

Last I checked, those were "the best" pc exclusives.

it depends on your current PC.

If you, say... bought a recent Dell with a Q6600, 4gb ram and a crappy nvidia 9400gs, then buying a HD 4870 or GTX 260 would give you a pretty sweet gaming machine. On the other hand, if you are trundling along on a Pentium 2.8ghz and DDR 400mhz ram, then a 360 would be a better deal for $200.

Unless you plan to upgrade your PC anyways, then you might as well use the $200 for some even better parts... Unless you plan to spend $1000 on the PC anyways so an extra $200 wouldn't make much difference so you might as well get the 360 too. *gasp* :P

For $200 you can get a very good video card like an 8800GT, or even a HD4850 with 2gb of extra ram., or if his other specs aren't so bad just a single HD4870.

That prototype nvidia card ruled though it was actually a pretty powerful card forgot which one exactly it was...but this would add the ability to upgrade graphics card for laptops...would probley be really expensive if it ever sees the market.

that ruled though was pretty highend card running through usb on laptop lol.

yowtfyowtfyo

oops i didnt explain it very well....nvidia or one of their board partners made a external video card for use on laptops...if i remember correctly it did run through usb...hopefully this stuff see's the market someday...this would be great for people with laptops who want more powerful cards.

When you get an Xbox 360 you're already upgrading your gaming experience.
