Xbox 360 = RPG gamer's paradise

No joke, on the 360 youve got great RPGs- WRPGs and JRPGs. Heres just a quick rundown of the great rpgs coming out for the 360 this year. This is just the list of confirmed RPGs on the 360 for 2007. Im not listing crappy ones like Kingdom Under Fire or ones that may or may not be on the 360 such as FFXlll (which wont be out till 08 anyways).

Lost Odyssey

Fable 2

Eternal Sonata (on the list soley due to the quality of the demo)

honestly, in comparison, the ps3 doesnt really have any good RPGs coming out this year

this year alone they have 3 great ones- Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and Eternal Sonata. (and then a bunch of crappy ones).  Next year they got cry on (from sakaguchi again) and FFXlll? KH3? who knows.- I can guarentee you a FF game though.

Probaly in response to day 1 pickup. And yes, i did download the demo- i thought you would have assumed that seeing as how i said judging from the demo in my original post

Thats a action game with RPG elements. Same could be said about Bioshock. Both will be great games- just they dont count as RPGs, at least not in my opinion

although TC, i'd never count the PS3 out, it's the console brand known for great RPGs.

they just feel aged now- especially Diablo

Final Fantasy 7 and OOT were awesome games for their time, probaly the best then, but if they were to just come out now even with upgrade graphics they would stink in comparison to the new stuff thats coming out.

Fallout is still very much one of the, if not the best RPG in terms of actual role-playing and non-linearity.

Diablo II is again one of the best of the action-RPG types.

You might be interested in Blue Dragon when it comes out then. Seems like the closest we'll get to a next-gen DQ now that Square has brought that series to DS.

The argument that an old game loses its greatness only applies to just that - those that become outdated. Fallout, Diablo II, and Deus Ex are some of the few games that don't fall under that category. They're old. They're played out. But one thing's for sure, they're not outdated...or not to a significant degree anyways. No level of shiny will change that until someone actually does outdo those games.

Obviously, the PC will always have the biggest library of RPG's available. However i doubt anyone is really excited to get a good PC to play games that came out 5-10 years ago...

Video game standards are raised to new heights with the release of every new game.

Point of the thread is you get a lot of great RPG's on the 360 this year compared to the other platforms.

The 360 doesn't hold a candle to the DS's JRPG line-up *all the big/innovative games*, hell not even the PSP's*classic JRPG gameplay underground gems/remakes*.

On consoles it does, but all Japanese developers have moved to handhelds, but for some reason gamers can't realize this.
