XBOX 360 smokes house

Well there was no actual fire but man this isnt a very safe console

Cochrane Fire/EMS responded to a report of smoke in the basement of 6 Bow Meadows around 1 p.m. on Sept. 1.

Homeowner Cliff Chudleigh made the call after he couldn't locate a burning plastic smell. Chudleigh turn off the power and evacuated the house with his wife and kids while firefighters searched the house for the cause of the smoke.

Cochrane Fire/EMS station officer Grant MacKinnon confirmed the source of the problem was an Xbox game console inside a cabinet.

"There was no actual flame, it looked like an electrical short. The firefighters let the smoke out and problem was solved," he said.

It says Xbox, not 360.

But yeah, that's not good either way. :|

That's the first Xbox not the 360. I've had mines for years no problem. So stop spreading lies.

From the article which leads us to believe the people weren't in the house, as well it says in the article the thing was located in a cabinet! I.E in an enclosed cabinent turned on...hmmmm most any system would do this...

No. It seemed from your earlier post that you didn't believe the 360 has any problems at all. I truely don't believe you have that point of view now but I was in question earlier.

PS: My PS3 is broke as we speak. Damn DRE! I'm playing my 360 exclusively for the moment.

Seriously though, I bought a Xbox at launch and it's fine and dandy. MS did have a recall of sorts and sent out new AC adapters with a built in breaker.
