XBOX 360 to be at over 1 million in Japan by the end of January 2009

it is at 640,000 right now, with decent spokes for september and october-and star ocean coming...what do you guys think, I am being a little bullish on the numbers? that would mean about 360,000 in about 5 months

UPDATE 1: with 30,000 sales for the second week of september and lifetime to date at 714,000 it is looking like the prediction I made is going to come true and there will be som e silly people in this thread that doubted... i will update again in a few weeks

UPDATE 2: 14,000 for 3rd week of september and 10,000 more thousand for 4th week, now over740,000 and all of october and november and dec and january it is a she in now....maybe even before the end of the year instead of january

Huh? What PS3 graphic? And I had no idea that the PS3 was outsold by the 360 recently, I was just posting my thoughts and others seem to agree with me.

If by "beating" you mean a one week spike in sales, then yes. Some people are bitter about the 360 "beating" the PS3.

they already estimating that Tales of vesperia is the best game exclusive for the 360, and they sold a brutal amount of hardware yes they previewed the number and they are expecting the 360 rose to 13,000 the same as a normal ps3 week it that the biggest week ever for a 360, that's not even compared to Ace combat 6 that sold nearly 30,000 360, so nope 360 will not get near that by end of january

360,000 units may be a bit much to ask, but you never know with Japanese people and RPG's.EuroMafia

The thing is... you only have to buy once. Unless they sent all the RRoD consoles to Japan... XD. Anyway once they buy for Tales they don't have to buy again to play the next big RPG... Which is what causes sales to slow down not pick up. I doubt it'll break 1 million by january... but It's not impossible just highly unlikely.

Japanese has never really had a thing for Microsoft and its Xbox, their gaming tastes are too pro-Sony and pro-Nintendo even though Microsoft is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition when it comes to their favorite genre, JRPGs - but I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft doesn't reach that one million; however, Japan doesn't really matter for Microsoft since they're still doing good in Europe and North America.Stevo_the_gamer

Why are people so pent up on how well a console sells overseas? Japanese culture is different than ours. Wow a game made for a japanese audience selling well in Japan, who would of thought. If anything this just tells me that the Japanese people are more loyal to there brand than there western counterparts if theres no 360's there.

Being that FFXIII is releasing exclusively for the PS3 in Japan,I don't see MS catching up to the PS3 in Japan anytime soon or maybe not ever.

Maybe because Japan has a huge influence on the video game industry. And if a console sells poorly in Japan, why would the Japanese make games for that system?
