I think people over estimate this franchise, it has awsome critical acclaim and it does sell well but it did not help the first xbox sell anymore units than 20% of what the PS2 managed to shift.  I would imagine the majority of people waiting for Halo3 already own a 360 and play GoW on it.

Actually, MS recently stated that roughly 40% of 360 owners owned an original Xbox.

40% of roughly 10,000,000 is 4,000,000.

Meaning 20,000,000 Xbox owners haven't bought an Xbox 360 yet.

Many are waiting for Halo.

By this logic, there are 100 mil PS2 owners that are waiting for MGS4 and FFXII to buy a PS3...right?

No, that MS had stated many people who had an Xbox 1 hadn't bought one yet.

They or I didn't mean they would ALL buy one for Halo, but 4,000,000 isn't close to the entire fanbase for Halo, assuming many other factors merely don't apply.

We can sit here all day and debate, but we both make legit points.
