I dont listen to game reviews when thinking about a game.  I like to form opinions of my own.  with that said.  being able to play a HUGE------HUGE ammount of game demos over xbox live actually saves me money.  if i didnt own xbox live and didnt pay the 4$ a month i would be the dissapointed owner of superman returns, def jam icon, rainbow 6 vegas (sorry i just dont like it), and more.  having the ability to play all the games before buying them is such a darn good idea.   i hear you can do this on ps3 but the library is not as good.  also  being able to pop in call of duty 3, pressing two buttons and instantly joining my friends online game thats already started while in a privet chat channel with her is worth 4$ a month.

Guess what.. PSN saves you money.. and it is free.. they have demos as well, Sony's obviously working on something else as a higher priority over the store right now, I can see the store improving a lot more soon enough.

Taste differs from person to person. That's really all there's to it. Some people love ninety nine nights for example, but most people including gamespot hate it. The few people with a different taste would have missed that game.

Ah. The 360 has hundreds...

I guess he sorta has a point. It's hardly a big deal though, you can always rent games, or just return them if you dont like them.

There's more to the a game than just the score, people should read the actual review to see how the game might be. And that's why they're other websites too :| A demo isn't a full represantation of how the game will be, you could like the demo and still be dissappointed with the actual game...

Yes, but I think the demo coupled with the review can give you the most complete idea you can get from a game. The description of some gameplay doesn't always feel the same as playing it yourself after all.

Hundreds of demos? There are only 169 games out for the 360 according to gamespot. There is a demo for every single game that's out on the 360? Well, considering the fact that the xbox360 has been out for a year longer.... How many of the those demos came out after the launch of the ps3?

You know, you don't have to have a Gold Membership to DL Demos on XBL, right? You can have a free Silver Account and DL demos, so it's also saving you the extra $4 a month.

Even teamxbox.com seems to think XBL gold is overpriced for ****** Peer to peer online play while the PC and the PS2, DS, PSP, and PS3 offers free online play.

Just a point but..'many more demos' of course it will, it has a longer history. If you have a PS3 you're not interested in buying Saints Row or CoD2 as it never existed on your console.

Hmm.... I'm not sure if this is the worst spelt, punctuated or designed arguement I've seen on System Wars. You have Demos on PS3 too, only, you don't need to pay to download them. Secondly, I'm pretty sure you can download demos for free on Xbox Live anyway.... you just hae to wait til a week after they are released. Thirdly, if you don't like a game, return it. Fourthly, you can play online with friends on PSN too. Fourthly, you should probably get CoD 4 mate, WW2 FPS games are old news now.

Cool. I never download demoes though. I watch gameplay vids, read GS previews, read the review and make a desision. The only time I have made a bad desision is when I got burnout paradise. But I am starting to like it more.

I usually make good desisions, I dont buy loads of games, so I try to buy ones that will be really fun.

Also you dont like R6V? I have R6V2 and I had the first one on the 360, its my favourite FPS! I like it more than cod4!

1. With an Silver Xbox Live account you have access to all the demos (except the multiplayer ones since you can't play online without having Gold) like with the PSN network.

2. To all the people who say you just have to buy it and return it if you don't like it: I don't know where you guys are from, but overhere in Canada, if I return an opened game they won't give me back all the money I forked over, only part of it, wich is losing money, no?

So Xbox Live permits you to make a choice, stay with the free Silver account or get the Gold version, but BOTH ALLOW YOU TO DOWNLOAD FREE DEMOS!!!

hate to break this to you, but demos often represent an unfinished and often poor representation of the final product. case in point, r6:v had a horrible demo, but the full game was a lot better. if you base your judgement off of demos, than you are missing out. you would be better off renting a game you were curious about. Atleast then you would have a final version to base you opinion off of
