Why is it since the rumored graphic specs for the Xbox 720 were announced instead of "that should be a nice upgrade from the 360", its been countless posts of obnoxious PC fanboys going on about how much more graphically superior the PC is and putting down the console before it hasnt even come out yet?

Its ignorant to put down the console before we have even seen gameplay of it.

Cause PC won't end up having better graphics for 70-90% of the generation, like every other generation.

Why are you all so obsessed about the performance, the games on consoles have always ran perfectly. PC gamers just have a habbit of exaggerating.

Well considering the 360 works just fine and 720 is an upgrade, I don't see why it isn't safe to assume anything different? Its definitely a change from all the elitist posts from PC fanboys.

I think you misunderstand what is happening , You have most Pc users that are saying ya its a ok upgrade from the 360 but it still sucks, and then you have the 360 users that are totally in denial about the report and calling it BS etc. We are in a multiplatform gaming era where games are designed around the lowest common denominator which for the last 3 years have been the current consoles. The 6670 is the bottom of the barrel type of gaming gpu in 2011/2012 its only slightly faster then the top tier gpus that were made 6 years ago (8800GTX). Even though the 6670 is 3x faster and will have 4x the video memory and be direct x 11 native features it still lacking.

I see too many posts regarding the specs and such, when I was a kid I never looked into what CPU or GPU the newest consoles were going to utilize I just got the console and it always ran the games perfectly fine. Honestly, the games are designed on consoles to run the game with as little framerate lag as possible while maintaining nice visuals and thats what they have always done regardless of the exaggerated things PC gamers have said about unplayable framerate lag.

This is just another golden oppotunity for them to bag on consoles but I don't care what specs it utilizes, as long as the graphics are a nice upgrade and the framerate remains stable, then whats the problem?

Good development companies know what they are doing and they wont develop games to run on the 720 to feel like an under spec computer trying to run BF3 on max.

720p, 30fps with occasional frame rate issues, screen tearing and long loading times is not what I'd call running perfectly. They run ok I guess and you get used to it but it's far from perfect.

I never even noticed any of this, maybe it just went over my head because I was too busy just enjoying the games I played. Why are you guys so negative and always want to expect perfection.

I'm afraid if I stick around longer and keep hearing this stuff I'll end up getting obsessed with little things like this, I actually feel bad you guys can't just enjoy games without obsessing with this stuff.

One can easily make the arguement that having 60 FPS instead of 20-30 easily improves gameplay, as well as 1/3rd the load times. One can also easily argue that having many many more games (PC library) also is another point for PC in term of "gameplay".

Then also factor in how some multiplats (like BF3/Skyrim/DX3 off recent memory) have more "gameplay" features or differences than their console counter parts.

Oh and consolites bring up graphics just as much on this forum. Do a quick search for digital foundry.

i have a gaming/video editing pc, x360 and ps3 and could not believe my eyes when i saw the crappy video card they're putting out on the nextbox. it's not high standard NOW, not even when it came out . holy crap, consoles gamers are getting shafted. i'm gonna wait 'til the price comes down 'cause let's face it, playing with friends over xbox live is way awesome, and few of them have a good gaming pc.

uh, you ever try playing an RTS on a console? RTS on PC is far superior. I am primarily a console player, but there are things that can't be denied.

Yeah right, people just accepted it because developers and console makers love spending millions more to develop games and new consoles. It was competition the main reason for the evolution of consoles. If gamers didn't care about graphics and performance then ps2 games would sell the same as 360 games and Sony would never bother with a ps3.

I never said gamers didn't care about graphics and performance but the systems have been doing fine. Thats why a lot of people buy consoles as oppossed to PCs simply because of the reliability that the games will perform fine.

But its like talking to a brick wall.

as in power wise, a good APU, 4gb of ram and one of those. You'd be foolproof for a long time.If your like me you keep your old tower cases (which is my base for my build later this year) its running rings round consoles and probably would cost as much as the 720.

Still your complete idiocy gives me a laugh.Better luck next time kid i think its time for school.

If you bought the parts at the start of a new generation for consoles, your rig would suffer towards newer games released for the PC. I bought a 9600 GT when it was in the spotlight and now it struggles to run a lot of games. Your not proving anyone wrong, regardless of what PC gamers want to start preeching about PCs being more competitively priced then consoles, no, they will always be the more expensive option.

No its not, If a lot of people enjoy the Xbox 360 and the 720 is everything the 360 is and more, then it can only go upwards.

And are you really that miserable of a person that you enjoy waves of negative feedback towards a console that isn't even released as oppossed to people who are just getting hyped and trying to look forward to it?

That doesn't mean anything, you would still need a CPU, RAM, MOTHERBOARD, CASE, GOOD COOLING, RELIABLE PSU, HDD, etc.

Elivathus

as in power wise, a good APU, 4gb of ram and one of those.

Not really i was PC gaming in 05 primarily when the 360 hit and i was gaming on a rig i specd in 2003 and it ran oblivion more than fine.(Launch title) besides once you have a good base incremental upgrades over the gen is no worse than fees for things like live whenn you think bout it.

Besides who uses a PC just for gaming, think bout it long and hard.

My sister's laptop has garbage specs yet it achieves all the simple tasks like performing tasks in Microsoft Office, Facebook, etc. Nobody needs a top of the line graphics card or high specs to do anything other then PC gaming or visual design. So your rig only lasted 2 years before an upgrade

First of all, if your gaming on a low range card it depends on when it was released, like I said if you bought a mid ranged or low ranged card at the start of a new console generation they wouldn't give you a solid experience for PC games made today. I don't know about cards today but like I said before PC compodents don't last as long as a console before becoming obselete.

You never have to upgrade a console but unless you want a solid experience on a PC you will have to upgrade at least once or more throughout a gen for a PC.

Mid range would give you a solid 60fps experience if combined with a decent processor and RAM setup. It'd be more solid than anything consoles have been doing the past few years.

Consoles are very very obsolete, just because a new one has come out does not mean the tech isnt obsolete.

And 1 upgrade of maybe a hundred quid is nout, considering its ironic you will more than likely not think twice bout buying a yearly sub for XBL.

My desktop is just for gaming, my laptop and tablet are for other PC functions.

Who buys a desktop over a laptop for anything other than PC gaming? think about it long and hard.

Elivathus

Then Wii U is going to be even better. Its GPU destroys 6670  6670...

Again your saying Mid range card, but their are different generations of cards, when I bought my 9600 GT it was pretty damn good, but the console generation isn't even over yet and its an embarrassment now. And graphics cards arent the only thing you need to upgrade either. And $60 a year doesnt compare to the price you would be spending on PC upgrades through a whole gen.

But obviously were not going to reach and agreement so I'm done with this.

[QUOTE="Jankarcop"]Cause PC won't end up having better graphics for 70-90% of the generation, like every other generation.

derp.

Jankarcop

Paying $600 every year for a better videocard. ;)

Its $600 every day. Get your facts straight, plebian.

You also have to add the $20/min to run those 1.21 giggawatt power supplies, thats if you want your graphics to be out of this time period.

electric bills actually can run up quite a bit... gaming PCs use alot more juice. Probably costs more than xbox live fees over the course of a year.

Doesn't matter, fact is I don't have to buy **** for my consoles to stay this gen, PCs do. Therefore it is cheaper for a console, simple as that.

You need at least one ground up PC build every gen, with a possible 1 or 2 upgrades depending on how much talking down you like to do to console peasants.

Unless you are still using an AGP video card and DDR1 SDRAM, from last gen...
