god sake you are as dense as they come.
you dont even need a top of the line to do either of those aswell :S a mid range or even low range are pretty capable.

First of all, if your gaming on a low range card it depends on when it was released, like I said if you bought a mid ranged or low ranged card at the start of a new console generation they wouldn't give you a solid experience for PC games made today. I don't know about cards today but like I said before PC compodents don't last as long as a console before becoming obselete.
You never have to upgrade a console but unless you want a solid experience on a PC you will have to upgrade at least once or more throughout a gen for a PC.
Mid range would give you a solid 60fps experience if combined with a decent processor and RAM setup. It'd be more solid than anything consoles have been doing the past few years.
Consoles are very very obsolete, just because a new one has come out does not mean the tech isnt obsolete.
And 1 upgrade of maybe a hundred quid is nout, considering its ironic you will more than likely not think twice bout buying a yearly sub for XBL.
Again your saying Mid range card, but their are different generations of cards, when I bought my 9600 GT it was pretty damn good, but the console generation isn't even over yet and its an embarrassment now. And graphics cards arent the only thing you need to upgrade either. And $60 a year doesnt compare to the price you would be spending on PC upgrades through a whole gen.
But obviously were not going to reach and agreement so I'm done with this.
