Xbox exclusive Pentiment Reviews: 10/10 Masterpiece

Besides GameSpot's outlier, 6/10, it looks like Pentiment is getting high praise for the 20 hour campaign. I can't want to start this up tomorrow. I need to buy it today so I can start the download. What say you fellow SW friends? Are you going to be starting this tomorrow too?

I am a huge fan of Eurogamer reviews, and Eurogamer is giving this a Recommended as well. We are 45 reviews in so far, and they seem pretty consistent (again, outside of GameSpot, lol).

Yeah I'd also take eurogamer reviews over GS reviews any day.

But GS review is bringing up time restrictions, I'm pretty sensitive to timers as well :/

I have chosen to NOT read the reviews yet. But while I am not a fan of timers, I understand why they exist for a game like this.

Yeah I've also glanced over them real quick, why would you say timers fit here? I'm interested to know your opinion :)

It's a murder mystery and it can't go on forever. Decisions need to be made, autopsies need to be done! This isn't the first game with decision timers. However, it would be nice to add an accessibility option to increase or disable the timer.

85 on metacritic. Nice to see this gaming really pushing the Xbox Series X hardware 🤣 I thought Lems/Herms don't like narrative driven adventures?

86 on Metacritic for Xbox, 87 on Metacritic for PC. But OpenCritic is better because it combines them all.

Can't say I was impressed by the visuals. The 90's called and all that jazz. :P

It's on gamepass, might as well try it. Not a fan of the art style tho.

IGN is like an excitable child whos parents have dangled shiny car-keys in front them during feeding time.

Their high praise is redundant and don't really mean anything for anybody other than 15-16 year kids or 30 year old man babies desperate for validation that PRODUCT is good as they don't have enough self-worth to judge its merits themselves.

GS embarrasing themselves as usual, giving it a 6/10 while every other site gives it a 10/10 masterpiece. GS needs to hire some real reviewers, not teenage kids who play cod all day.

Lems like any reviews that shows in good favors for their precious Xbox. But once GS gives them a good score , lems are back in love with GS reviews

thats a misunderstanding. We like movie games that are honest. For example, this game is a clear movie game so we know what to expect from the start. GoW on the other hand is supposed to be a real game, then when you sneak in hours and hours of walking sequences and QTE, and movie cinematics, dialog, thats when gamers get upset.

Xbox gamers are into fine dining, we like all sorts of games.

Not much of an Xbox exclusive when I can purchase it on Steam.

But hey at least no one can say Microsoft didn't publish anything this year.

It's my understanding, according to System Wars, even if games are on PC, they are still considered PS/Xbox exclusive if they are not on competing consoles.

Maybe the calendar changed this week?

Looks like another game in GameSpot got the fine tooth comb review... obviously Ragnarok got a pass,still it didn't best Xbox studios deathloop and halo infinite

This is the first time I seen a lem ignore the GS review to build up their own agenda. 🤣🤣🤣 NOW Metacritic counts (as it always should have)

I don't know about the lems, but I do know that as the TC, OpenCritic is my go to for average. Eurogamer is my go to for priority reviews. GS is my go to for SYSTEM WARS. Nothing like seeing cows and lems scissoring.

they all have PCs and $1 for Game Pass.. not sure why they wouldn't appreciate another 86% metacritic game to play..

Obsidian already have one of my favorite games of the year in Grounded, will see if this ends up in the same category

Yeah, the reviews at GS have never been my go to. Eurogamer (along with Digital Foundry tests) are, IMO, the least biased and most informed.

Both sides flip flop on the use of GS scores.

It is kinda odd to make a thread, calling the game a 10/10 when it didn’t score a 10 here though

Me personally an exclusive is something that is only on a single platform and is a reason to own said platform. If it can be had on something else it's not much of an exclusive unless you're a console fanboy splitting hairs because you need to justify your purchase to yourself and everyone online.

But it's great that Microsoft and Sony are embracing their new roles as third party publishers.

According to mods, the "flop" days are long gone as the community dwindles. So GS scores don't attribute to flops anymore :( With the same 20 people posting here every day, it would be a barren wasteland if we didn't have some good tantalizing topic headlines. They love to hate it, and they hate to love it.

If we went with only available on one device, there wouldn't be any exclusives for the most part. Then the discussions would be gone and everyone would not be here on the forums. They would probably be home playing games 🤷‍♂️
