Xbox first party game to be enhanced for PS5 Pro!

Diablo 4 will be PS5 Pro enhanced, Blizzard has revealed.

Diablo series boss Rod Fergusson responded to a fan asking about a potential Diablo 4 PS5 Pro update on Twitter, confirming that the game will indeed be "enhanced" when running on Sony's upcoming mid-cycle refresh console.

"I've been getting this question quite a bit recently and I'm happy to say that Diablo IV and Vessel of Hatred will indeed be PS5 Pro Enhanced!" Fergusson said. "Very proud of our hardworking team to make this happen. More details at a later date."

Of course, the first Diablo 4 DLC is launching in just a few days on October 8, and along with all of the content additions in Vessel of Hatred; which include the new Spiritborn class, a whole new questline, and the new playable region named Nahantu; we're also getting a massive revamp to progression.

The main selling point, of course, of the controversially expensive PS5 Pro is its beefier GPU compared to the existing console. The new graphics card's faster memory and rendering will help games run smoother and look sharper than they do on the standard PS5. Sony also says the PS5 Pro boasts improved ray-tracing for "dynamic reflection and refraction" to make enhance lighting effects, and that AI-powered upscaling will further sharpen the image.

There's a growing list of confirmed PS5 Pro enhanced games, and as we get nearer to the console's November 8 launch, it's likely we'll see more publishers like Blizzard expand that list.

Oh snap! Do you think the other Xbox first party games coming to PS5 will also be enhanced for the PS5 Pro? If so, that would mean that PS5 Pro is the ultimate console version of games -- am I rite??

Cool, was thinking about playing some GT4. I'm sure by the time I get to GT7 it'll either be enhanced for PC or enhanced for PS6.

Either way it's a win-win for me.

This move won’t be as much as a devastating blow as Forza (Xbox’s flagship racing game) coming to the ps5, and playing better there.

at this point, nobody is "switching sides" because of more powerful console hardware.. people have their digital libraries, their friends lists, and their subscriptions..

if you truly care about the best hardware performance, invest in a PC.. both PlayStation and Xbox games play best there..

High end gaming PCs make up a tiny fraction of the gaming base. Most people have PCs that are less powerful than a PS5 Pro.

there's a ton of wishing and port-begging based upon two live-service games (Sea of Thieves and Grounded), two indie-level games (Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment), one licensed IP (Indiana Jones), and one IP that has always been multiplatform (Doom: Dark Ages) going to PlayStation..

clearly, Xbox is being more liberal with their titles in terms of bringing them to more gamers than PlayStation or Nintendo.. but somehow "case-by-case" has equated to "all games" in the minds of fanboys..

The Xbox isn't just console lol. I have Xbox console, I have Xbox on my steam deck, I have Xbox on pc and I recently purchased a firestick 4k max that also supports Xbox.

So...ps5 pro or whatever bs name they give their system is still far behind Microsoft windows Xbox PC.

I bet that every game whether they are by MS or not will be enhanced on PS5 Pro. That is the whole point of the Pro, right? The more serious question is: How significant are these enhancements, and do consumers really care?

Just like not every ps4 game was enhanced for ps 4 pro and not every last gen game was enhanced for PS5.

As much as people wanting this to be like PC gaming (under DF's banner) it's not like sliding in a new gpu and watching the frames you get on all your old games, devs have to actually go in and put in work.

Now, having said that, the fact that we have had pc versions of these games before (Horizon FW) does make it easier for devs to turn up the visuals.

If we are to use pre-orders, I will say generally nope.
