Xbox Games Showcase Pre-rate

@kuu2: I want to see what this hyped up studio The Initiative has to offer. The actual gameplay of Everwild and if Halo: Infinite has the capacity to recover from Halo 5.

Lets get the pre-order info out there already. Hell, it's the end of July already.

I already got a release date for Flight Simulator so next on my list is Age of Empires and whatever new IPs they've been working on. Don't care much for the Halo/Gears/Forza lineup.

It should be good. They most likely have some worthwhile games brewing after all those developer acquisitions. Halo Infinite should finally bring some much needed change to the series and people will be excited for it.

Xbox biggest event Game wise imo,we ain’t getting a deep dive on series X,no Lockhart,price or release date,no new studio news,just Games....bring it on!

I'm not big on Xbox typical 1st party lineup, but any new game is a new chance. Mostly just hoping to see some good 3rd party stuff.

I'm expecting a good showing tho. After the backlash from their last showing and then seeing how Sony went about it, figure they'll go all out.

Why wouldn't it? There's plenty of AA and indie games to share the show.

OT, I think they are going to nail the actual content of the show.. I believe they essentially gave up on this gen judging from E3 2019, decided to take the "L", and put all efforts towards a strong start to next-gen.. which means they should have plenty to show this Thursday..

One thing they should have taken from Sony's show is to make something pre-recorded with good production value.. From what I understand, it's going to be another live stream which opens the door for some of the usual cringeworthy shenanigans.. shenanigans they can't afford.. this show needs to deliver, period..

Microsoft needs to kick ass the whole hour and also announce preorders are live and just do the whole shebang in order for me to be happy. Or they can just announce Ninja Gaiden next gen for PC and I'll thank them for that.

I'm a PC Gamer so I don't care. Having said that, you think EA and Ubisoft shows were bad, wait till you see MS's. Outside of AoE4 and Flight Simulator, you will cringe even more.

As a fanboy I think they will always be good, but in this case I hope its as good as much as the Xbox One one was bad at E3.

Guys I get it. It's just that they're talking about mic drop moments and I don't think Halo is one of them. I'd rather see teases of those mic drops. We know what Halo is.

Set your expectations really, really low and you should be good.

We know what Horizon is.. We know what Spiderman is.. We know what Ratchet & Clank is.. Yet those were the biggest games at Sony's show and people seemed to have come away impressed regardless..

So I agree, We know what Halo is.. but if they can blow everyone away with what's shown, it's going to make a huge impact just like any established franchise would..

It's a big "if" though.. We'll find out soon either way..

Not really. I just play games, even the movie games.

I think it will be ok. But they will show way too many games instead of focusing on their top tier as they should. And not enough new AAA IPs. But still a solid 8/10.

Dude, that is the most ridiculous avoidance of admitting liking movie games I think I've come across on this forum.

Im going to go on record and say that while I am excited for the show, and expect the actual games to be good......

I am not a fan of this "staggered" release of information, and there not being a deep dive into the hardware, or business talk. I dont just want a highlight reel of back to back game trailers I could watch on youtube. You have to speak publicly about this console man. You have to deliver a full keynote speaking address. Keep in mind, that MS and Phil Spencer have not done an official reveal event or spoken in an official capacity (ie. a keynote address like E3, or Sony's show, or Apple, Build, etc..) since The Game Awards last December, and that was only a minute long. Im not talking about an interview with IGN, or an exclusive "deep dive" with Digital Foundry, or hopping on some youtubers podcasts. By this time last gen we had roughly 5-6 hours worth of stage time between BOTH Microsoft and Sony, with 4 press conferences between them, dedicated to the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One.

They were supposed to have their show in May, but it got split into two shows, and now they're saying THIS show is ALSO being split into two shows with another one in August. And apparently the August show is where they're showing Lockheart.

This "staggered" approach to releasing this information (and the drawing out this reveal) is nonsensical, and I am not a fan of it. I know that Covid threw a wrench in things, but other companies, like Apple were still able to do a keynote show. They cant blame everything on Covid. And im not letting Sony off the hook either. They were cancelling their events months before Covid hit. This is not FUD or fake concern. I fully expect the games shown thursday to be fire, but I just wanted to rant about this.

I'm not even trying to compare them to Sony but one thing Sony didn't do was push any one game prior to the event. What I meant about knowing about Halo was that the game was already announced and shown before. We know it's going to be in the show, that's a given at this point.

We were told there would be mic drop moments. They could just advertise the event with that and not push a single title. Pushing Halo so hard makes me think this is going to be a Halo event. You see what I mean?

I really hope that's not the case. I think we'll know if they start off with Halo or not.

I think fans will mostly be happy. Just as Playstation fans were happy with the PS5 showcase.

then you would have nothing to show near launch over the competition. besides people were pushing for ps5 news so to wait until august would have been bad. the hate was getting out hand and sony had to shut them up. all you heard on the internet was series x this series x that while sony was busy making ps4 and sending out the games. while xbox had no games to release so they had to keep showing next gen stuff to get the hype going. sony did it right before two heavy hitters to get people looking there way for those games again.
