Xbox Live Gold yearly subscription no longer available on Xbox.com. Gearing up for an announcement?

It looks like Microsoft removed the Xbox Live Gold yearly sub option from their site, could it be that they're gearing up to do something with the service at the showcase?

1 month and 3 months subs still exist, and you can still buy yearly cards... but with next-gen looming, I do have to wonder if they're not gearing up to convert everybody with active subs to game pass, and putting emphasis on that service instead. Perhaps online MP will become free?

Merging gamepass with Xbl would be pretty tight if the price doesn't increase. Having access to so many games and all the new MS exclusives on day one for free* is so much better than 1-2 free random shitty games that aren't even worth downloading for the most part.

What's the Sony answer to all of this? 9.2tflops ain't gonna cut it, Sony.

They already merged them, Ultimate Gold, which I have.

It would be one masterful move if they offered Gold free to all XSX buyers.

They aren't dropping XBL money. It's likely getting merged with Gamepass which, makes a lot of sense.

And agreed, having Gamepass w/ Live and the xCloud is an incredible value. Hoping Sony follows suite or finds a similar value proposition for their base.
