xbox live is the worst service out of steam, psn and xbl

And no one can give any reasons why it isn't. Your basically paying 50-60 dollars a year (unless you get a deal, but it's still alot) to play the multiplayer component of YOUR games that you payed for. So effectively your being robbed of what YOU paid for when you spend that 60 bucks or whatever you spend on the game.

This is the typical argument of someone trying to justify the cost of xbl. (hint, they can't justify it.)

I'm not listening to ANOTHER persons opinion on XBL/PSN/Steam.

you can now get free points on XBL. the price raise made everything cheaper. i find more arcade games on xbl. more dlc. you wont suffer connection problems as much. you can get xbl free but you cant do online multiplayer.

xbox live is the best service. it has party system and cross game chat. you can join peoples games really fast compared to sluggish psn. still has more features than psn even if its 1 feature hence the 'more' the price argument is useless as its talking about the service not price. if you want to talk about price make a new thread.

XBL is better than PSN because like STEAM they both have features that PSN doesn't. Whether you believe those features to be worth money is up to you. But having cross game chat, voice messaging, ect ect is better than not having it. PSN = PC Online gaming from 1999.

I have both PSN and XBL and must say the XBL is a much more streamed line service than and better than PSN at this stage IMO. Also, XBL includes cross game chatting. All of this is ofcourse subjective since if the ease of use and cross game chat don't out weigh the price tag of Live then that is your opinion. Also, anyone paying $60 for XBL is either stupid with their money or not very informed about deals you can get on the internet. A simple search for XBL 12 month subscription will net you 12 months for around $43/year...

really? care to tell me how it "sucks" If you getting getting a solid service for free sucks than yeah.

annoying updates every few days, servers for games are awful, downloads take forever, lacks key features of xbox live (instantly join game, friend chat, etc.), messages/menus aren't as intuitive as they should be...

Well, honestly I don't care if you pay for it. It's just how people blindly say it's better than psn because "you get what you pay for" When your paying for the same feature set minus xgame chat and one or two better party features.

the quality is good and the interface is fast, i dont like how psn takes years to compare your trophies to other people but xbl is not worth 60 imo.

Here's a true story.

Me and 4 friends get Black Ops on launch. 4 of us have it on PS3, 1 of us has it on 360. all 5 of us go to the store and buy our copies.

the 4 PS3 owners put it our console and play online right away and enjoy the game we bought.

The 1 guy who got it on 360 cannot play online because his XBL subscription ran out a few weeks ago.

Being 17, he can't order any thing or buy anything on the internet. He has to buy it in the store.

The nearest store that sells them is a 45 minute drive away, in Oslo.

Being 17, he cannot drive over there. He has to wait a few weeks until his parents drove him there and then spend $100 (that's what it costs) and then he could play Black Ops just like the rest of us.

Think of paying for XBL like this.

You've just finished school and you're on your way to the bus. It's -20c outside and you're absolutely freezing and do not want to walk home for an hour and a half.

There are 2 buses. One is bus called XBL that can drives 80km/h and costs $5 to take you home.

The other is a bus called PSN. It only drives 75km/h but its free to take it.

You have no money on you, but you have plenty of money back at home.

for the option to get more deals on alot of downloadable games, some $20 games like wipeout HD were free a month or so ago. Acess to beta's, and full game trials.

I'm also emphasizing that it's optional. And you would actually make money off the service in a year due to all the deals. I don't have it though.

It is the worst service out of those three, in my opinion. I can't think of any decent arguments why I should pay money to play the games online that I've already bought. I'm not using it either. I don't think Steam should be listed there though.
