Xbox Live is way overrated!!

Half of the so called features either dont work or work half ass.

Why do I still get matched up with players that I avoided on Xbox Live?

Why do everybody have have five stars or their reputation when half the players on Xbox live are racist? Why do when I give a player negative rep, his rep goes up to five star from 3 star?

The Gamerzone does not match you up with players with alike gamezone preference.

Matchmaking is the worst thing that has ever happen to online gaming. Matchmaking does not reduce lag by matching players according their "information" A lot of times it is laggy on live and a lot of time they give the player with the worst connection to be host. Matchmaking does not always similar skilled players together. What ever the system is, it aint working because i get matched with noobs a lot.

A lot of online game dont have the options of dedicated servers.

There's no custom games search in games like Halo 3, so you're force to play what ever the playlist choose for you. Boooooo

and thats why xbox live should be free. Why are we paying for it any way? NXE? If had the choice to have all money back or NXE, I will choose the money

Live isnt overrated, PSN is just underrated. Both are great services. Live offers alot more community tools, while PSN has first party dedicated servers and free online play. It just depends on what u prefer.II_Seraphim_II

Because it reduces the chance of being matched with them, it does not stop it completely, you can still mute them and not have to hear a word if you like, personally I'd rather have a game with an idiot than no game at all.

Half the players are racist? So theres a 50/50 chance you or me is racist? Well I'm certainly not so get off my service you racist. If hes on 3 star hes only just joined, it seems to default to 5 stars the moment you get your first rep thing.

My only problem with XBL is that, they lack some of the most BASIC features in online gaming, MM is a joke, i would rather choose my OWN game, rather than be stuck with 4 other noobs in Gears 2

I swear, sometimes the game puts me in the worst team (im Rank 3 in gears2) and it seems the game just stick me with a bunch of Rank 1'ers, MM is BY FAR the worst feature of XBL, it sounded good on paper, but its execution is lacking.

Same can work the other way, sometimes i get in a GREAT team, but the other team is FULL of people who just bought the game, THIS is finding a team of similar skill?, what garbage.

Another thing is the communities, while most people are quite online (the way i like it) every once in a while some idiot will come on and start annoying everybody, Always with racism, stupid jokes, and talking about what happend to jerry last night acting as if people care, i swear, the Gears community is even worst than halo 3's, they all want to be hardcorz, its hilarious how you ask one question and everyone jumps on the bandwagon and starts calling you a noob, "How do you stick nades on the wall?", "LOL NOOB, you dun know how to do thatz!", Hell Quake 3 had a better community than this, and they where deemed to have one of the worst most elitist community's in any game next to CS.

/Rant, Sometimes i wonder why i pay 50 for this peice of garbage. then i realize Gears 2 is awesome so i stay in.

No. But XBL does have games that support dedicated servers. Left 4 Dead uses them.And there are a few others. I'll admit there aren't many, but to be honest, PSN doesn't have a lot of games that use them either. What makes PSN better in this regard is that they do use them for most of Sony's first party games.

I would say it is much better than PSN still....but yes there are some things i would like ironed out That said I don't get all this lag you people get.....Halo 3 runs fantastic everytime...same with Left 4 Dead....COD 4...etcjg4xchamp

I guess its your connection. Sometimes my connection is funny...but It works majority of the time, so thats fine with me. The reasons PSN does not compair to XBL is because XBL provides a great deal more than PSN as a service. Yeah...for those who just want a service to "play games" and thats it...okay. For the gamers who are more interested in other stuff that XBL brings you cant get it with PSN period. Not even close.
