Gamecube was the worst machine of the last generation, and the proof comes from Nintendo themselves. By not sticking with the Gamecube and realising a totally new machine (the wii) they realised it was a faliure and that they had to change or die. The Xbox did not fail as many people think, as Microsoft keep the same strategy and now are doing extremly better compared to what they were doing 3-4 years ago. So for all u Nintendo fanboys what do u have to say bout the Gamecube!?!!?? and by the way Xbox always had the best multiplatform games (online and better graphics) and it sold more than Barney's lunch box ( the gamecube)
I liked them both the same. Both had their pros and cons. Xbox excelled in online while the Cube had some very awesome exclusives that you couldn't find anywhere else.
im not gonna lie the xbox was better but it was still more expensive and a lot of times failed on many ppl for all my friends italways stoped reading the disc then it just didnt turn on. for me i have had my GC since it luanched and it works fine still. and i have never had a problem with it and i have droped it more times than my cell phone.yeah the xbox had a lot of great games but so did the GC.i know it didnt have very many online games but the multi player was still great.even if i had the money i would still choose the GC over the xbox.
Actually I disagree, I say they were second or even close to the PS2, most of the Xbox games were pretty blah to me except for a few. I even own a 360 and love it greatly, unlike the original Xbox which I dislike a good deal. Gamecube may been lacking on the third party, but the first and second party games coming in (with the occasional third), I thought it had killer games. Creative, fun games, bought some new old series into the mix, being more of Resident Evil, remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid game, and so. Then you had games like Pikmin, Tales of Sypathy, Animal Crossing; They were great each and everyone of them.
Im not talking bout if u prefered the xbox or the cube, im talking how at the end xbox managed to outsell a console giant and it had another console with the same strategy follow up. While gamecube could not afford to compete anymore and that is wahy nintendo started from scratch witht the wii. Doesn't matter how many goty's the systems got or if one was better looking than the other. The fact is that one has a successor while the other one had to die for a new version to come up

well good things dont last forever it had to die sometime for a better one to come along.
