It's awesome how you can see the reflection in the court with the 360 version. Not so much with PS3.

This is good info for people who have multiple systems and need to choose.

NBA 2K11 is getting crazy awesome scores bro.

Look at their methods man. Pretty technical and thorough.
Missing reflections in a game could be a dealbreaker youknow

I'm all for realism man. Ever gone to an NBA game. The court reflects light.
Man the reflections make it look a lot better
sergemyster8
Plus the 360 pulls off better textures and resolution. I don't think the PS3 has the power to pull off those graphical feats to be honest.

.....ugh....Lets see....UC2 "console" graphics king no? End of story.... :?I played both versions of the demo at least 20 times each. The 360 version looks alot better. They seem to run about the same, but the xbox has better lighting and textures. When I played the PS3 version I was like, "ok this games looks pretty good. not as amazing as everyone says. Then I tried the 360 version a week later and was blown away.

360; It only does multi-plat? The mean green multiplat machine? :PI never buy multiplats on the ps3 and this is just another game that will be purchased on the 360.

Maybe they should first release an exclusive that looks better and then we could talk.So.....Graphics mean everything still right?
anyway, it looks like the PS3 version is more lighter.

There is sort of a blurriness with all PS3 multiplatform games since these comparisons were made this gen. I don't know what it is?

Ahh OK they don't control brightness settings and use 720p.
Clears allot up... basically their comparison is pointless for my system. (and allot of other people)

Comparison two different exclusives on two different platforms isnt scientific. You need to keep variables the same.

I see no Blurs in those NBA 2K11 screens.
Just Jags.

Don't let bias cloud your thoughts. See the facts only. Only thing to tell you.
Even though the 360 version is noticeably better, and you wouldn't need side-by-side comparisons to see that, I don't see how you would go from thinking it looks pretty good on the PS3 version to amazing on the 360... It's really not that big, even with the jaggies and reflections. Unless the game runs smoother on the 360, it really won't matter to most people. It comes down to what system you'd like to play the online multiplayer.I played both versions of the demo at least 20 times each. The 360 version looks alot better. Except they apparently don't know how to tweak the settings of their TVs connected to their PS3s.What's our purpose?
With the increasing influence of publishers on gamer-oriented sites, it is easy to lose track of the true quality of a game, as it may become buried under a clever layer of advertising that bolsters the game's appearance. While aesthetically pleasing, this has no correlation between the relatively minor features on display and the actual experience of the game itself. This is why the Lens of Truth exists: to deliver gamers, both casual and hardcore, quality reviews, previews, and content that exposes a game's quality for what it is, free of any external influences. This is made possible by a dedicated team of fellow gamers and developers who want to know just as bad as everyone else the answer to our most basic question: "Is this game worth my $60?"
How do we capture and stream?
We are constantly getting asked how we capture and stream our videos. So we whipped up a few nifty flow charts. As you can see, this is what we mean by source. Everything goes from the consoles to the capture box…there are no cameras involved.
We have also had plenty of "it doesn't look like that on my TV" comments, and we agree – it doesn't. Having dealt with color correction and accuracy at previous studios we can tell you that it is no easy task. Each display will almost always produce an image differently. Color, contrast, brightness, sharpness all come into play. Not to mention the actual capabilities of the display (contrast ratio, black levels, etc.). Just understand that it may look better/worse depending on your home setup and settings. Here is an image to better display what is happening:
And rest assured, we know what we are doing in terms of system settings. Here are the details:
PlayStation 3 has RGB Full Range set to "Full" and Super White "On".
Xbox 360 has Reference Level set to "Expanded" and HDMI Color Space set to "RGB".
To ensure color accuracy from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 output, using the above settings, to our capture card we have captured segments from the AVS HD 709 – Blu-ray, HD DVD, & MP4 Calibration suite. As you will see, each system matches each other at the source level.
How do we operate?
Completely out of pocket. Everything from servers, hardware and games we fund ourselves. Sure we make a couple bucks a month, okay like $5, in advertisements. Why do we do it? Definitely not for the money. We are gamers and consumers too and we want the best experience possible.

I enjoy the system for its exclusive SP games. I rip on the 360 too btw. Im primarily a PC gamer though. I enjoy the best its why i always buy MP games on the 360 if they aren't available on the PC.
wow, again??? i mean this is a big time difference by looking at those screens. i'd never buy a multiplat for the PS Cripple, free online or not. i wonder if Cowspot with take off 5 points for this game like they did Dragon Age. because the difference in versions is drastic.

uh....this game just scored a ((9.5)) on ign.com chief. nothing horrible about it. i'd be pissed if ionly had a ps3. all cows can say is "i don't care" even though they do or should.
DAT jaggies... but seriously there isn't enough difference to make me switch from the ps3 version :P. ps: Alien kobe is looking better than ever ... why can't they get him right :P

I've been playing NBA 2k9 on my ps3 for the last 2 years, so I tried the ps3 version of the demo first. Obviously the gameplay of 2k11 was better than 2k9, but I wasn't that impressed with its graphics. It was filled with jaggies just like my 2k9 ps3 game, and the overall look of the game wasn't that much of an improvement imo. Still, the improvements on gameplay alone nearly sold me on the PS3 version. Then I tried out the 360 version and I really was blown away by it. The reflection of the floor, the amount of detail on the players, and no jaggies (at least not as visible as the ps3 version). The difference between the 2 versions is alot more visible in motion than it is in screenshots.
I thought it was already well documented that 2K dosent know what the hell they are doing when it comes to multiplatform development?

What's funny is they probably spend tons of money making sure they are the same just to have some half --- webiste come along and use a 720p capture with no brightness settings.
or perhaps the opposite is true, perhaps a console that runs GoW 3, KZ2 and U2cant handle the awesomeness that is a basketball game.
What sounds more likely to you?

lol. I've always hated that excuse.
But its true. PS3 is two times more powerful than Xbox, so it must be the lazy developers. Sony released a chart stating that PS3 can output 2 times the teraflops than the 360 making it twice as powerful. Just wait in a few years, PS3 games are gonna looks even more awesome and rivaling PC.A few decades from now, when people ask me what was wrong with this generation of video game consoles, I'll tell them that there was a website dedicated to find tiny graphical differences on multiplatform games between two relatively even consoles in terms of horsepower.
