I think it would be great if say I'm eating a bag of Lays Potato Chips, if Kinect could scan the room and see that I'm eating those, and then have a company like Doritos pay MS to target ads towards people that are not eating their product.

everything in this world tracks you has long as they can. TV, websites, ect ect. This is how they base their pricing off of. lets say for tv for example. Channle A: gets 1 million views every 5 minutes Well you charge 10k for ad space, Channle B: only gets 500k views. well no one is going pay you same price when they can go over channle A: and get more views for same price

strangely enough I have never heard anyone that actually plays on xbox complain about the ads. Somehow the ads only manage to bother people that don't see them. I much prefer the 360 dashboard to the ps3s its nice being updated about new entertainment and sales. I know its the only reason I noticed dark souls was on sale this week for 10 bucks and managed to convince a bunch of friends to buy it.
Google is far, FAR worse. Ever wonder why youtube always has videos related to you on the home page even when you arent logged in? Its because google/youtube checks your browser history. So if you watch p0rn, you will have sexualized content on the front page. This is everywhere on the web, and how you get pop up ads related to you. Lets not pretend this is just MS or Xbox One. Its a way to provide ads that related to you = more effect ads = more money. Geez people

well tbh i dont mind them as the first thing i see when i start my xbox is the play game button, so i'm able to start my game straight away without looking at all the ads. the only time i'm on the dashboard is to look at the marketplace
