Xbox One loses too many exclusive games

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood - multiplatform game

Ryse: Son of Rome - multiplatform game

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare - multiplatform game

Really... Microsoft dropped Kinect which means we won´t have no more Kinect games which means it´s all about console and not sharing Kinect. Also price is same high as PS4 and yet console is way bigger, uses batteries(welcome to year 1999) and much weaker. Now all main exclusives has became a multiplatform games.

Phil said that he wants that every major Xbox One game comes on PC too.

So, what is the point of Xbox One then? Even multiplatform games are better on PC and PS4

"Exclusive" is a dirty word and no 3rd party game should ever be held as hostage . Xbox will have its own first party exclusives , like PS4 . We are living in an era where games have become expensive to make . Making these games exclusive doesn't make much money and porting games to PC had never been so easy before .

How did they lose exclusivity when most of these games were NEVER announced as exclusive to begin with?

Well, third party exclusives have gone the way of the dodo bird on home consoles anyway since Metal Gear Solid 4.

That said, it's hopelessly optimistic for non-Xbox One owners to think that every major game for it is coming to PC or other consoles. The major first party games won't for sure (namely 343 Industries, Halo, and Black Tusk Studios, Gears of War). Microsoft owns the Quantum Break trademark, so I doubt that one is going anywhere.

There are a couple non-terrible Kinect games still being made even after the decoupling, like Dance Central Spotlight.

exclusives are stupid. other than nintendo franchises and weird pc games there aren't many worth fighting over. sony mostly has mediocre IPs and MS has no fucking idea what to do with theirs. I would love another Viva Pinata but knowing MS now it would be some microtransaction filled bullshit and Sony just doesn't have any franchises Im remotely interested in.

Ryse, not first party. See I never believed the exclusives that aren't first party would ever stay exclusive. And I don't care because I played them already. Why would it matter to me or MS if a 6 months to a year later those aren't exclusive anymore? Any sales or consoles those games were going to move has happened. What is your obsession with a game being exclusive for eternity? I bought the console because I wanted to play DR3, Titanfall, KI, Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5, Gears, Fable, Quantum Break, now Scalebound, Forza Horizon 2. What am I supposed to say "oh IF I had only waited I could've played the superior PC version of DR3 and Ryse". Why would I wait? I was buying the console for so many other reasons, and since I have it, why would I wait to play a game? Should I wait for when PS4 games hit PSNow and that service is available on TVs, tablets and PCs?

Windows is Microsoft platform, every exclusive should be on Xbox One + Windows. I would love to start a game on the Xbox and continue on my Surface.

Why would anyone take an Xbone to the counter with the nagging feeling that all the games they're buying it for end up on PC a few months later.

A shame PC and console are competing platforms then.

My PC belongs on a desk with a monitor and keyboard, not next to my HD TV. I'll take a Xbox one or a PS4 to play games any day over a PC.

Also playing game on my PS4 is not better than playing games on my Xbox one. I like the X1 controller better so IMO games are better on my X1.

Not for M$ if you buy the games for Windows it's their platform and if you buy the game for Xbox it's still their platform. PC and consoles are competing platforms for fanboys but for M$ it's all one big money pot for them.

PC gaming is pretty much owned by Steam and Valve don't much like MS a whole lot.

I was referring to Windows OS. Windows is still the core of M$ business they would rather sell windows than Xbox's. I already saw this coming when Nadella said he wanted to unify all of M$ products under one OS, it's just a way for them make the gaming division more profitable.

The PC is generally a different target group just like the WII and Wii u is for mostly other people then those that buy a playstation or an Xbox.

And these Xbox games probably won't arrive on the playstation, so in a way, they are exclusives.

I honestly don't think the Xbox crowd care about exclusives and when they do it's a minority. Most people I know get it for Call of Duty to play with friends. Been that way since the Xbox 360.

That's correct. It's also not putting any money into their Computing and Gaming Division, despite all their guff about "One Microsoft," "mobile-first cloud-first digital life."

That would be a pretty toxic scenario for XBox, though. Those people buy one to three games a year tops. It would be a nightmare for publisher relations, considering Ghosts even sold more on PS4 than Xbone.

This is the sad part. PC games used to offer so much more--a completely different experience. You are right though, games are expensive to make and the higher selling, more popular market should be reached first. It is sad but true.

In all honesty I think the PC format is going to gain major popularity in the next few years. There's going to be a new market opening up out of all the nasty shenanigans that the xbox and playstation brand have created. In this day and age everybody wants a voice and everybody wants it custom. I know they are out there but I expect custom pc cases to gain that mainstream appeal, along with actually putting the hardware together more akin to snap-together vs glue-together.

MS has shown us its true colors last gen. They spam "exclusives" for the first year or so and then leave their customers to rot in the drought. They thought it would work again this gen, but it's not going as planned. Now, they have no exclusives, the weakest console, the worst OS, inferior multiplats, and a dwindling fanbase. Hhhmm.. they didn't drop Kinect for the 100th million times. They released an XB1 without Kinect. The original XBox One still has Kinect and Microsoft is still supporting it. They already said there are several Kinect games in the works. Get your facts straight. As for the exclusives, there are still tons of exclusive on the way. Most of the exclusives the XB1 are losing aren't going to the PS4, which is their direct competition. They are going to the PC and run on M$ O/S. It would still be exclusive to gamers who only game on game consoles. There are a lot of them. No one seemed to care when the PS3 lost a ton of exclusives (DMC, MGS, FF, Katimara Damacy, Ridge Racer, Kingdom Hearts, Demon Souls, Tekken, etc..) so why would anyone care now. lol!! Many of the games you listed were never XB1 exclusive. Peggle 2, Plants -vs- Zombie, Titanfall and Max were always multiplats. Only DR3 and Ryse has gone to the PC. They still aren't on the PS4, which is the main concern.

This. Fucking this. Lemmings are like the idiots who invested in blockbuster even when all the signs were saying that blockbuster was doomed. From the very start, we knew that MS wasn't going to release good exclusives. They were gonna release 3-4 exclusives for the first year, and then go back to releasing 1 exclusive per year. That was always their strategy. Just look at MS's pathetic 2015 lineup. They only have that mediocre Halo 5 game that'll probably score low-80s on meta.

Nope it wouldn't but it would be extra revenue for them to pad those loses and keep investors off of their back for a little while.

Since when has M$ cared about anything but making money. Only since Sony started kicking their butt with PS4 sales have they stopped being so arrogant. As for publisher relations it would not be too bad considering M$ publishes the exclusives that they don't own

Uncharted 2 is a good game. The others are mediocre at best. TLOU was great but its not a franchise and I really don't care for a sequel. Halo is one of the few non-nintendo franchises worth a damn but 343 already fucked up their first try. I've always been a Nintendo fan, ask anyone here who isn't a stupid troll.

They're called Lemmings for a reason. Only Lemmings would make such horrible decisions. And then we have to listen to them whine about it for the next 6 years or so. Xbox One is going to have like 4 franchises worth mentioning and every other game it gets will just be filler shovelware crap!

Uncharted 2 and lots of other PS3 games weren't good but great. I'm not having this argument again as I've already had it on other sites and on youtube. Anyway, it'll be fun watching Lemmings try to claim PC/XBONE exclusives as "Microsoft" Exclusives and trying and failing miserably to merge with the Hermits. Fun to see Nintendo milking nostalgia as always...and fun to see Sony releasing exclusives and more PS+ goodness...as always...

But xbox has Halo and the definitive CoD experience. PC is saturated with so many old and f2p shooters that CoD has a small playerbase on pc with lot's of cheating. PS 4 Ghosts performance is horrendous and Activision does nothing to fix the issues. Xbone is the only place for a CoD fan.

Cod is the only game for an Xbone fan.
