Xbox One owners, are you content with the system?

The Xbox One is 80% as powerful as the PlayStation 4, they're both weak.

DVD playback was a joke last time I checked. Audio kept going out of sync after a while. But that was a while ago, I don't know if they fixed that.

@nyadc: I've said repeatedly at this board that PS4's hardware sucks too. Just not as badly as X1's does. But anyway, I didn't mention PS4 cuz the thread is about X1 ... and I'm posting from my phone and tend to bloviate somewhat less when doing that.

Ah I see, some people just like to ignore that though, they treat the PS4 like a super computer then bash the XB1 as hardware level peasantry, it's annoying.

Well I kind of consider the X1 a mistake in some ways but I love Halo and loved MCC and will hopefully love Halo 5. I have pretty much bought a Halobox lol. But my PS4 is great for chilling out with till I finally persuade my future wife that I must have a PC plugged into the TV upstairs then all bets are off.

I know what you mean though current gen consoles pretty bad for exclusives so far but I suppose the only way is up?

It's true. In sony's defense, they couldn't afford it, but MS could've and they charged $500 for their box anyways so they wouldn't have lost money anyways on an underclocked 7950 and better cpu, but teh kinect...

Also Ps4 has 50% more gpu power but he know's that.

The Xbox One's GPU is clocked at 853Mhz while the Playstation 4's GPU is clocked at 800Mhz. 53Mhz may not sound like much of an advantage, however, it closes the 50% performance Gap to about 40%. Also, a higher clock speed has other advantages. Specifically it raises some of the internal pipeline of the GPU such as the pixel fill rate, and even increases the speed of the eSRAM. Microsoft's head architects said in an interview that Xbox One Dev. Kits actually had 14 compute units (rather than 12) because they were thinking about adding 2 additional compute units, but after some testing with some of the games in development, they found that a 53Mhz upclock would actually give them better performance than adding 2 additional compute units. They claimed that adding Compute units dosn't infact increase computation power linearly as most people think. While this is a very controversial topic, IF they are right, then the Playstation 4 may not actually have a 40% advantage like the numbers say, only time will tell.

But aye after the clock speed increase, if we get to the nitty gritty, Ps4 has 41% more gpu power, but then it also has higher bandwidth from gddr5 and then the 8 ACE units. Latter doesn't mean much now but it will.

Truth is, if it wasn't for the legendary "niche title" Bloodborne, my ps4 would be collecting a fuckton of dust as well. This is what i expect to happen this E3. MS will announced multiple titles most aiming for 2015 (give people reason to keep/buy a Bone), Q4 arrives and the large majority will be delayed for 2016. So even if they do announce things for this year, be ready to be disappointed af cuz it ain't coming.

Halo 5, Forza 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider are iron clad certainties in terms of releasing in 2015 from what has been said and how things have been historically, so they'll still have a pretty strong fall/winter lineup even if nothing else comes through, if more does happen to come through though it's going to be a pretty large shit storm for Sony.

You may be right. We're not that far into the gen yet, if Sony has nothing for 2015 and MS has a few surprises, Ms could catch up quite a bit. Not completely, but hey.

Sony needs some good announcements or a price drop to not lose marketshare I think.

No, that is three exclusives one of which is timed.

Microsoft could have domain on that Tomb Raider IP for a year or even indefinitely, there's no guarantee it will even be going anywhere else as of now, and the bulk of sales are going to be during the holidays when the game is NEW which is exactly why Microsoft secured rights to it and is involved in its development.

I don't assume to know or speculate, I go off of the basis of what is and what is not, and as of right now that game is an Xbox One exclusive until specified otherwise.

Since I'm playing multi plats on PS4, I would like some more exclusives to play, but overall im happy with it. I would of bought the non kinect version if it would of been available at launch but it wasn't.

With Halo 5, Tomb Raider coming out this Fall I'm happy., With Scalebound and Quantum Break coming the system is going to keep me entertained.

Do you like your Kinect? I've found it extremely useful for the UI and doing things in general, being able to do things with immediate voice commands rather than having to sift through things to get to what you want is great. I love its functionality in games for certain features like it has in Forza Horizon 2 with the map and GPS as well.

i play my PS4 Daily for Destiny dunno how people say "oh man my ps4 collects dust"

uh yeah destiny made me forget about PC gaming permanently im on my ps4 doing the missions, I can play this game for 24 hours and still have ons of crap to do

this game is going nowhere in WoW im already done with all my stuff within in hour with destiny im never done theres too much to do

Been reusing my Xbox One today for AC Unity and frankly, no I'm not content with it.

The exclusives are mediocre imo, the dashboard is clunky, the controller feels horrible and I just don't care about ANY of the upcoming releases bar TR which I'll get on PS4 and PC.

Do I hate the thing? Christ no but I don't love it either.

I'm having doubts that you even own one now to be honest, all you do is incessantly whine about it, bitch, make trolling topics bashing it etc...

nope it has a bigger userbase on ps4 and the controller is way better

the ps4 controller i touch the touchpad an it goes into orbit an it feels next gen

the xb1 controller is a PoS that i don't want and the ps4 controller glows red when im taking dmg or white when im using flash light

the xb1 controller doesn't do anything it has no kinect features used in destiny the system is trash i would never piay a multiplat like destiny on xb1 let a lone one that has a DLC deal with sony that just sealed everything up in a nice lil package for me

No, I'm not really happy with the game selection for my X1 or my PS4 just yet. The only system of the three really worth owning so far is the WiiU and that is mostly due to the fact it is backwards compatible.... Now, with that said... yes, it is early in the generation and I am sure they will both deliver sooner or later. I can also say that I'm MUCH more impressed with this generation so far then I was with last gen. I guess that isn't really saying much since I hated last gen, but it is a step in the right direction. There hasn't been a good exclusive that I care about for either console yet. I am looking forward to The Witcher 3, but that's a mplt so whatever. Looking forward to E3 this year same as every year, just hoping Scalebound looks killer. As far as PS4, waiting to hear more on Deep Down and a few others. Consoles should get good, but I can easily see that still being 2-3 years out, and I get the feeling this is going to be a shortened console gen. regardless of the success of the PS4. We need new info on games like Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout IV, Timesplitters IV, a new Dragon Quest, Red Dead 3, The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, etc. like.... yesterday. Also some new IP's that actually look good. I want to see NEW IP's like ES, Fallout, RD, RPG's Japanese and Western, etc. Something new and BIG. Something that takes a chance in the open world fantasy genre would be killer.... albeit unlikely.

One of the reasons why I am holding off buying a console from this gen. (As I play all the multiplats on PC buying a console for 2 or 3 exclusives would be foolish)

No, I am just not impressed with what Sony has done with it so far particularly in the games department, especially considering their advantageous position. Instead of capitalizing on their position in the market they were lazy, arrogant and complacent riding on the sales wave until just a few months ago.

No, I am not happy with it. It is just as bad as my PS4. They both suck. I only bought them for exclusives and neither has delivered. They both just sit there in my living room with minimal usage.

Haven't played mine much, haven't played much of anything recently (going through a phase I guess), but I enjoy watching Netflix on it.

Maybe because I come on here late at night before bed for some fun.
