Xbox One S 2TB sold out

The only available size and design of Xbox One S at this time has now sold out at most leading retailers, and Microsoft will reportedly not be replenishing stock.

I'm glad to see it did well ( I just preorderd my 1TB version the other day ) but of course we have no idea how many were actually produced. I wonder why they are not making the 2TB version anymore? Strange!

are they not set up to meet demand? If I get one I want the Halo bundle, $299 and comes with MCC and Halo 5, I was going to give those to a friend since I already have those

maybe they're just making sure they can keep up with pre-orders

that's so bizarre though, they came out with something that created a good bit of buzz but why not follow up with supplies? I hope they're not doing a Nintendo false shortage to spike demand

Why would they stop making the SkU. Ok it may take awhile to manufacture more, but i doubt they just decided to stop making it altogether?

Only thing i can think of 2TB was made for limited time and the 500gb and 1tb model will be the SKU's they release from now on?

Only reason I can see this being possible is due to the cost of a 2TB 2.5" drive.

probably because when the S was announced the entire industry took a collective shit on them for announcing the Scorpio at the same time.

It was limited edition... Why would they replenish it when the normal version release in a couple of weeks ?

It's available at all the local Target, Best Buy, and Walmart stores near my zip code if anyone in Maryland is looking for one.

Super Strange... Oh Well most people are used to the external hard drives if they need more storage. I like the 2tb thou. Thats enough to keep a ton of games on your system without the need for external storage.

Xbone S is not sold out in Germany. They barely sold something there.

I saw a couple at a local Wal-Mart in Canada (near Toronto) but no one else seems to have em. They're pretty hot atm.

It's not uncommon for a system to sell out at it's launch though. Seems odd they won't make more of 'em though.

@chikenfriedrice: Yeah I cracked. I just went after school to see about trading in my bertha for the S, and all sold out. So I reserved the 1 Tb with $100, and will trade my original for it and use all my Powerup rewards points on it. About 125 bucks out of pocket.

I cracked too but mostly for that 4K Bluray player :) I sold my 1TB Xbox One to my sister and her boyfriend for $200 ( including a 2nd controller ) so we are all happy lol.

Maybe they just think with the current demand they can sell the 2tb Gears 4 bundle for $449 so they're priming inventory and demand toward that, then after I can see a return of a standalone SKU.

As far as the other bundles go I tough it was crazy good value to get Halo MCC + 5 or the new Madden at almost no additional cost.

Why would they not make more of something that sold out? Seems sort of stupid to me. Hell if anything they should just abandon the 500GB one and sell the 1TB for $299. That should be the low end machine at this point. My guess is that a Black 2 TB model will be coming soon along with the Gears one.

That's a load of bunk! You can still buy it from every major retailer online, making it literally sold out nowhere, and at least 80% of stores if not more in my area still have plenty of stock

Its replacement is coming out in a year or so.

I have similar thoughts. For me, with my 500gb PS4, storage is not an issue. I don't have the fastest internet in the world, but I don't mind waiting for something to re-download if I happen to delete it by chance.

I mean, I'm obviously not against options for more storage, but I just don't get it -- in regards to storage.
