Xbox One should drop its price to $299.

I know it would never happen because Microsoft would refuse to sell at a loss, but let's just break it down really simply.

PS4 is substantially more powerful than Xbox One.

PS4 costs $399.

Xbox One costs $499.

A $100 price cut would not even suffice because in my world of logic, having the PS4 and Xbox One at the same price would make no sense because the PS4 is a more powerful console, it should be more expensive. That's how electronics work. An Nvidia GTX 780 is more expensive than a GTX 480 because it's more powerful.

Bottom line, Xbox One should be the same price as the Wii U. Wii U has the excuse for being so expensive because of the tablet controller and backwards compatibility. Everyone knows Wii U is selling at a profit and Nintendo doesn't sell at a loss. I don't believe that Kinect costs as much as that tablet controller.

After seeing what the Xbox One is capable of and the specs under the hood, it's a $299 console. In a couple years, it should be $199.

The success of the Kinect last gen will be the reason Microsoft does poorly this gen. The success of it got to their heads and now they think it's the future of gaming. It's a terrible video game controller at best. People want 1080p graphics and 60 frames per second, not to be able to talk to their console.

By your logic then the XO should be selling higher than $300 as it comes with kinect.

They messed up big time putting all of their eggs in one basket with Kinect. MOST people do not want Kinect. When you alienate your fan base like that, bad things happen.

It's like going to 2 different car dealerships where 1 dealership has the car you want for $20,000 and the other dealership has the exact same car but you need to buy a horse with it for an additional $10,000. Wait a minute, I don't want a horse. Where am I going to put this horse? WTF!?

Actually, that example was favoring the XB1 because to make it more accurate, the dealership forcing a horse on you with the purchase of the car would also have somehow managed to remove like 100 horsepower from the car engine as well.

X1 is the only console of the big twins to offer an exclusive that's about to "shatter" the MP gaming world. Not that I enjoy Mp or intend on getting an X1 anytime soon. But it's an entirely new game, on a new console, something the PS4 lacks after 3 months. Just saying.

For MP fans and X1 owners, at least they have something to look forward to in a few weeks. That $499 price tag, at least, would seem more "money well spent" for them. Again, just saying.

I haven't been on this site in a while. Who are the Lems now? What kind of ammo could they possibly have? Worst multiplats? Same tired played out exclusives? Way less power under the hood? $100 bucks more? Kinect? Worse controller? Worse, more expensive online? AA batteries? Power bricks? Where are the Lemmings? I wanna see what they say. In my opinion, last gen was a battle whereas this generation is just one sided. Not only was last gen neck and neck with PS3 and 360, but the Wii was the real seller. This gen, Wii U is out of the way, Xbone is failing seemingly worse than Wii U and PS4 is in a league of its own. When was the last time there was a generation with this kind of disparity? PS2?

Yes logic wise the PS4 justifies it's pricetag more. Problem? The severity of losing money at 299 is a lot higher than losing money at 399(and I think they lose money at 499 no?). They are not in the business to out right bleed money. Plus making a staggering price cut will hold off steady spikes they can get from 449, 399, and 349 as they keep going.

The ideal quality of that box? sure. You would have a point if that's your wording. They "should". No, they shouldn't. That's bleeding a lot of money with no reason to do that. They can pace this box's price out over time to actually make a profit, not have it bleed money for years while they are working on trying to make it cost effective. Microsoft does poorly this gen? Microsoft is doing very well. Microsoft is the only company who earns profit on every Xbox One sold while Sony and Nintendo loses money on every console sold.

Xbox One price is 590 euros, PS4 is 400 euros and still Xbox One sells very well. How having Second place is poorly? If we take Mobile sale then Sony is 4rd, this means Sony should leave and sell off mobiles and TVs too.

Not to be able to talk their console? It´s called Kinect, Kinect is supported every second game. Skyrim, Mass Effect and more... Kinect only games are great. Kinect Sports Rivals is another quality AAA game. If people want 1080p and 60fps then people buy PC, not PS4. PS4 games runs 1080p and 60fps only when settings are low. If we had Crysis max settings then PS4 wouldnt run 30fps 1080p still. Kinect is very good thing. Skype is also very good.You don´t own Xbox One, so stfu because you don´t know anything.

I really don't buy this Wii mindset that I keep hearing. All the sudden after the Wii success last gen, some people like you say that graphics and performance are meaningless now on consoles. Now, the only point of a console is to get gimmicky new ways to play like motion controls and the like. Who cares what it looks like, just as long as there's some sort of gimmick in how I control the game, preferably something that I've never done before and I'm not used to. Add in the fact that the controls have to be significantly worse than what they would have been with a standard controller.

Kinect takes everything we've learned about controllers for the last 40 years and throws it out the window. I'm not at a point in my life where I wanna reinvent the wheel. I'm happy with a controller and I want my games to control like they always have. PC is my favorite, but that doesn't mean that consoles can't have good graphics too. When I bought my PS4, I wanted it for the games I will never be able to get on PC. I want them to have good graphics and controls with NO MOTION CONTROLS OR VOICE COMMANDS. I know that motion controls and voice commands have a future, but that time and place is neither here or now. It's quite simply not good enough yet.

Believe it or not, the Xbone is so poorly engineered that it costs more to manufacture it's APU than to manufacture the PS4 APU.

Xbox One has great exclusive games that PC or PS4 does not have. Xbox One has more bigger AAA games coming that is not coming on PS4.

I talked with people who owns Xbox One and they all say that they can´t imagine Xbox One without Kinect because Kinect makes everything so much better. For example, voice chat is faster and clear when you playing multiplayer games while PS4 dosent. Video chat, 1080p clean picture while PS4 dosent even have a video chat.

No honest owner of the Xbone and PS4 would say the Xbone OS is "faster, easier and nicer" than the PS4 OS. Jesus f*cking christ, the Xbone fails so f*cking hard at multitasking. You can't even install 1 f*cking thing and multitask without having the entire system stutter like a 200 GF GPU playing Crysis 3 at max settings.

On the PS4, you're able to install 7 games at once and there's not even a SINGLE stutter and that's due to superior, efficient coding as well as the secondary processor + RAM that the PS4 has. Microsoft didn't think that far ahead, so they crammed that feature down at the last minute.

And god, don't dare say the Xbone OS is "easier" to use. The PS4 UI is the epitome of simplicity. Whether people like the path SONY is taking is another matter, but you can't deny that the PS4 UI is much easier to use than the Xbone UI. The Xbone UI is a cluttered mess.

Make it 199 and include a (good) game and I'd buy it.

The original Xbox was a lot more powerful than the PS2 (a gap much wider than the gap between Xbox One and PS4), yet they both sold at the exact same price. Based on your world of "logic", shouldn't the PS2 have been cheaper?

They should sell it without a kinect at that price, they wouldn't make a loss, people who want the xbox controller and/or xbox exclusives and don't want that spycam in their houses would not start playing on the pc or be buying a ps4.

you do realize at this time last gen, there was no "BATTLE" as you say. It was one sided towards the 360 at first, much like it is for the PS4 right now. It took years for the PS3 to catch up to the 360 in sales. OH how we forget so quickly. You make it seem like it never happened that way.

do you not remember the PS3 launch at all? Sony was never "neck and neck" with MS until way later in the gen when the 360 had no more exclusives and the PS3 just kept delivering more and more of them.

What does the Wii U offer than the Wii did? The tablet controller, that's a no brainer. What does the Xbox One offer than the Xbox 360 didn't? A much more integrated, and enhanced Kinect sensor. Not worth the $499 that MS wants to charge, but it's an interesting console. What does the Ps4 offer that the Ps3 didn't? Improved graphics?

The Wii U offers a unique control method for a game console. The Xbox One not so much unique, but still a different experience for a game console. What does the ps4 offer? Improved graphics.

The Wii U is selling poorly right now, lack of games is a major reason for this. The Xbox One is selling below expectations, but not selling poorly by any means, price point is the reason. The Ps4 with it's improved graphics is selling pretty well, Why? It can't be the games out for it, what game is out that warrants paying $460 to play it?

For that matter, what game warrants paying $560 for an Xbox One? $300-$310 for a Wii U? Or $460 for a Ps4? I would love for someone to answer that.
