Anatel, which is the Brazilian Equivalent of the FCC isn’t very strict when it comes to NDAs of pictures. Thanks to their leniency we were able to get our hands on a leaked image of the upcoming Xbox One Slim model.

Every device that uses wireless data transfers and is going to be sold publicly needs to be approved by the FCC. Xbox One was no exception. FCC approved the original Xbox One fat model under model number 1525 or the FCC ID C3K1525. You can find FCC ID 1525 under your Xbox One console.

Microsoft recently filed documents for two new Xbox One models asking for FCC’s approval. The model numbers were 1682 and 1683. In the above image, you can see that the model number is 1683. Below is another listing we found on the FCC website showing 1683 model.

Link

No more complaining about how big the Xbox One is.....I always heard bigger is better but maybe that was in reference to something else.

I bet we will see more of this at E3

That looks like major miniaturization. Can't make much else out about the final console, but the size, at least, seems to be a dramatic improvement.

This is just a picture of a piece of a unit. You can see the blue fabric through the ring at the far right.

I don't mind the size or the look of the current XB1....I figured they made it that large for a reason. Mine is always on while watching TV like MS intended, figured the large size was due to overheating issues.

More like they were suggesting that it was a powerful machine by just looking at its size when it's actually weaker than the PS4 which is just as small as this slim Xbox.

Interesting, I'm fine with the current size though, I'm just happy my console is so silent and never overheats, hopefully those 2 things won't change with a slimmer model

@chikenfriedrice:

Yes indeed, mine's on all the time as well and I feel better that it's the size it is. I'm sure MS was being very safe to not make the same mistake like RROD and more so knowing many like us would use the TV pass through meaning that sucker is on all the time.

More likely they didn't want to have the same problems the 360 had, so larger fan so it wouldn't ooverheat

As long as it is as quiet as the current Xbox One. I don't want it sounding all loud like the PS4.

I don't mind the current Xb1 size. Half of it is vents and fans. Even after hours on hours of constant gaming, my console doesn't run hot. I used to joke for the X360, on the cold night I would turn it on as a heater.

I never really care how big my Xbox One was from the beginning, I think it's okay, if there's one thing that MS needs to do, make the slim console sit vertical since that was one of the complaints and the Xbox 360 did it better when it was sit vertical. There is no excuse that the Xbox One standards couldn't sit vertical.

I'm not interested in a slim model, so no point in me buying it. Buying Xbox 360 slim was one thing, I don't need to do so this gen.

My xbox one has been rock solid since day 1. And I agree with others that it is much quieter than the PS4. The system is well put together even though it is big. Microsoft definitely made sure that the RROD issues of the 360 didn't repeat themselves on the Xbox one.

I see no reason to buy the X1. It has so few good exclusives. And the future doesn't look much better. I'm not sure how making it slimmer will help. Just get a PC or a PS4.

That appears to be a possible MOBO for it. There would be no point shrinking it that small unless the scale of the overall unit is going to be downsized dramatically as well. A larger unit would be easier to cool and likely at least as cheap to manufacture; if it's downsized that much, it will likely lack a disc drive. IF this is real, this is probably a digital-only device.

I can't think of anything else. I mean, parts are small, so it has to be the peice that can't change in size.

But but but people who buy the xbox one this year will be stock y a huge ass console that take to much space is not fair to early adopters who pay $500 for an over size xbox one.

@tormentos: Actually people that buying/bought it this year are getting it for $300 (500GB) / $400 (1TB) / $400 (500GB and Kinect). M$ didn't official drop the price, but this "deal" has been going on for a while. Probably when they announce the Slim, the price would officially drop, and the will start at Slim at $400.

I got the Xb1 on day one for $500, but that's the price of getting it first. It's just like a game, I could get it at launch for $60, or wait a month at get it for $50.

This is most likely, more people jumping to conclusions when nothing is said. I mean look at it, it looks like a component to a larger piece.

@tormentos: you might be right:

I probably bought it before this price cut. But that's July 2008, by July 2009 there were rumors about the Slim and price cut. Who doesn't remember those commercials?

It is all about the internal components. If it is not getting a significant boost in performance, I don't care what form factor it is. I already have a crappy XB1 and PS4. Give me a console that can actually do 1080p/60fps without major compromises. ...or better yet... just release all first party games on PC and make sure they are not broken like Quantum Blur.
