X1 does well in the U.S. PS4 does well worldwide = PS4 wins! 

That's nice. GameStop (you know the store dedicated solely to games) recently stopped taking preorders on the PS4 after allowing stores to take an infinite number of preorders.

PS: Wii U preorders were sold out as well.

But that news only matters if we know how many units they had available to sell.

For instance if there are 200,000 units of console A, and they sell out faster than 500,000 units of console B, that doesn't necessarily mean console A is obliterating B in sales.

Unless we actually know how many units are up for grabs then pre-orders don't really mean anything at all.

That doesnt mean squat. They could have sold out of a 1,000 unit allotment. But that doesnt mean they sold 1000,0000,00000

Microsoft will probablly limit the amount of units for its first wave in order to create an artifical demand for it. When people see they cant get something it makes them want it more. First wave will be limited and be sold out very quickly and then surprise just in time for christmas a much larger second wave will appear mere weeks before christmas and everyone will rush to buy one.

Electronics companies have been doing this awhile now.
