The sad truth about Xbox (well, sad for those who care dearly about sales) is that assuming PlayStation doesn't abnormally **** up a launch again, it will never win a generation sales wise worldwide. In the US? Yeah, much more probable. I mean, the 360 is approaching the PS2 US sales figures, so as far as some Americans are concerned, the 360 is as successful as the PS2 was. Look at it from a global perspective, the PS3 is every bit as impressive, one year less on the market no less.
If the American install base is what wets your crotch, I'd still hold out for the Xbox One because lets face it, the American youth love Xbox. PlayStation is last years model to some of the newcomers. That's why Xbox wins holiday seasons, because thats when the kids get their consoles. Xbox is essentially the iPhone and PlayStation is the Galaxy S in the US.
