If all your mates play on Xbox then get the Xbox. One of the best features of current gen consoles it's the online play and when you do it with friends then it gets even better.

if you like the games better on the ps3 get a ps3. get what you like. its easy to make new gaming friends and you might nspire your friends to own both systems as well. but ultimatly you should base yur decision on your likes not anyone else.
Thankyou for some replys on this. I know it sounds crazy and Im not aiming for a fanboy war although iM not sure this is the right forum to hope for that.. Its a tough choice and unfortantly Im not in a position to own both. I love the lfd games ( i hear they may reach ps3 in the future with gabes new love of the system) and playing with real life friends is a big bonus to me (the live payment doesnt phase me to much) but on the other hand the exclusives on ps3 are really my thing..ive played uncharted and that alone is fantastic I wont even mention how much the short time on Demon's Souls, killzone and infamous i enjoyed very much on the one mate I have with a ps3. And if it ever arrives im a massive GT fan from ps1 and ps2 days which again is a somewhat system seller to me. I know if i didnt have internet the choice would be ps3 as im a movie buff aswell. But its annoying my mates are very set on xbox and it does make the desicion hard as silly as it sounds as a old wow player i know how good it is to play with people you can chat down the pub with aswell. And unfortantly my friend who corrected the comment WII is not for me:) sorry to say im just not very interested but it gave me a chuckle so thankyou;p I hear multiplats like Red Dead tend to be noticibally worse off on ps3 though..how does this affect you ps3 gamers? Its a serious question..does it bother you or anything? I only ask as it seems to on these forums cause quite a stir or is that just fanboy bashing each other? apologis for the flame ish baiting questions i am gueinely stuck on this desicion and I dont want to regreat my choice Thank you all kindly
this year has been the year of the ps3 because of the move and gt5. next year will be the year of the ps3 again because of killzone3, uncharted3, lbp2, la noire, infamous2, agent, resistance3, lastguardian and more move games. you can skip the 360, wii, and pc this gen because the ps3 will be the only thing you need this gen imho
the multiplat issue is nothing in most cases. it tends to be exaggerated by lems. i made the switch to ps3 last year purely cos i felt the xbox is a sinking ship.
They're both equally great, but if you really love the PS3 exclusives that much then get the PS3. If you're more of a social player, though, then I'd say the xbox 360. It just has a great online setup.

This, but, in some cases, it's actually noticeable. From my understanding, the PS3 version of Mafia 2 doesn't even have grass. It seems that Sony is aware of the issue, though, and companies are starting to make good ports.
