Xbox Partner Showcase Announced For October 17, "World Premieres" Promised; How To Watch Live

Here's how to watch and what to expect from the upcoming "no fluff, all games" Xbox showcase.

Microsoft has announced the next Xbox Partner Preview showcase, and it's coming very soon. The event is set to take place on Thursday, October 17, featuring "new and upcoming games" from outside teams like Remedy, Sega, and 505, among others. In short, Microsoft is promising "over a dozen" new trailers throughout the 25-minute show.

This is an "no fluff, all games" broadcast, Microsoft said. Here's everything we know about the event and how to watch.

How to watch the October Xbox Partner Preview

The Xbox Partner Preview takes place Thursday, October 17 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. The event will stream live in all the usual places, including the Xbox YouTube and Twitch channels.

Microsoft noted that at only the official Xbox YouTube page will carry the stream in 4K/60fps. Every other channel will be capped at 1080p/60fps.

What to expect

The Xbox Partner Preview will include the first look at gameplay footage from Alan Wake II's The Lake House expansion, which is set to arrive later this month. There will also be an "action-packed" new trailer for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, along with "a peek at multiple bosses" for the dark-fantasy action game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Beyond all this, Microsoft said fans can expect "multiple world premieres," along with "other great titles" coming to Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass.

"As always, Xbox Partner Preview is all about sharing exciting games news from our talented partners across the globe: you'll get new game reveals, release date announcements, and fresh new gameplay from upcoming games. And to sweeten the deal, during the broadcast, Xbox Wire will post exclusive behind-the-scenes stories about select titles shown," Microsoft said.

Whenever I see "World premiere" I always hear that dark other-worldy voice reading it 😅.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more Perfect Dark, but I guess that's unlikely. 25 minutes of trailers is doable without my head exploding. Looking forward to it!

That Chronos: The New Dawn game by Bloober looked incredibly intriguing.

Holy ****! That’s gotta be Samoa Joe in the Yakuza Pirate game.

Subnautica 2 looks cool. I’m interested.

Eternal Strands looks pretty good.

Mistfall Hunter also looks quite interesting.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers looks very good. Definitely want to check that one out when it launches.

Eh, not sure about Firebreak but it’s on Game Pass so I’ll probably at least give it a try.

What the hell is going on with Alan wake? You play anyone than Alan himself why game called alan wake???

Subnautica 2 hype. Wuchang is already on my wishlist, and looks even better. Also, keep an eye on Eternal Strands, by a studio led by former BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw.

Other than that, it was okay.

Edit: will watch later, but few of the games look promising from the description.

Barely anything more than teaser trailers, a handful of release dates, and only a handful of the titles will be going to Game Pass. That's to be expected from any of the big 3 mini events.

Honestly that looked pretty bad and just so you know every game there will look and run better on a PS5 pro.

Actually my interest in FBC Firebreak just went up a little. Wasn’t paying too much attention to it’s reveal but have since learned that it’s by Remedy and is based on Control. Really enjoyed Control so this makes me more intrigued.

Am also very interested in playing the Lake House dlc for Alan Wake 2 as it looks to be leading things into a Control 2.

Wuchang looks cool in my opinion.AW looks insane. Pretty good show overall.

Not a whole lot exciting here imo. I was already hyped for AW2 DLC. Really happy they're going deeper into the horror side. New game from Bloober is looking promising. What they did with SH2R, I now have trust in this studio.

Under water dead space is something that I've been wanting for a few years ... and Chronos might deliver something close. Definitely going to keep an eye on that.

Eternal Strands also looks interesting.

It's insane to me that Ubisoft goofed around for a decade with the naval combat from AC4 and achieve pretty much nothing in the end. And in comes Yakuza from nowhere to steal the thunder.

Anyone predicting this deserves a gold medal (and a head exam, because it would have been an insane prediction).

The idiots at Ubisoft never understood that it was the combination of naval with appealing on-foot gameplay that was the hook.

This looks like a lot of fun 😁! The sequel I never knew I wanted 🤣

I must say, I never paid much attention to that IP but after watching the vid you posted, that looks badass!! ;)

Ubisoft was too obsessed with what focus groups/shareholders wanted that they forget they were supposed to make a game for gamers.

Agree 100 %. It seems to me like their premise was: ”How can we turn naval combat into a MP service game?”

But the question should have been: ”How can we make a really fun pirate game?”
