Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch - which system are you most excited for in 2024?

Some preview videos for what is coming up for each system in 2024. If PlayStation manages to get FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Death Stranding 2, and Silent Hill 2 Remake in one year, that just might take the cake for me. How about you, SW? Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch - which system are you most excited for in 2024?

PS5 then Xbox.

Sony hasn’t announced a single game for ps5 2024. I’m sure it’ll end up being more remasters/remakes/DLC and Cows will claim to be happy enough with that.

Gotta be an honest cow. There is nothing to be excited about when its PS5 related. As i've said it in another thread, for the first time since the creation of the Playstation brand, its AS PATHETIC as the Xbox, which was only excellent during th OG Xbox days and from 2005 to 2009 x360 days.

Switch 2 for the new hardware followed by Xbox Series X with the new games and all the stuff coming to Game Pass. PS5 bringing up the rear with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Spider-Man 2 dlc, and maybe some other stuff.

Eyes on Xbox for the games I wanna play, eyes on PS5 for gaming news drama queens, eyes on Switch like are they really ready to jump onto the next device after killing it this last year, we'll see.

I’m most excited for Nintendo and PC. Whatever comes out on the other two is just a bonus

PC. I don't care about the consoles. I just want all the remaining exclusives on PC.

Nintendo - hopefully we get Switch 2! Plus I'm sure there'll be another strong lineup of games, as usual. Hopefully a new 3D Mario alongside the new machine.

I only really play on PC these days, but for the big three:

Nintendo's 2005 hardware does not interest me and as a 4090 owner an Xbox is just my PC but at 1/10th the capacity.

Sony is going to win on exclusives (as they have done almost every single year the last 15 years or so) and force me to get PS5 games.

Other than that; I will play every Microsoft game day 1 on PC for free (Thank you Phil!), I'll also get to play every Nintendo game in 4K/120 day 1 for free (Thank you Jensen Huang)

While Sony doesn't announces anything, Xbox releases the biggest disappointments in gaming history. Think about it, is it really better to ruin legendary ip's such as Halo?

Well plenty of great games to be playing on the ol PC though, like this year, I suspect i will be playing very few 2024 games in 2024. Better to wait for patches and for games to be in a more "Done Done" state (and that applies to all platforms these days really, with the debatable exception of the switch). On that note: Bethesda, can you announce when this Starfied patch every 6 weeks in 2024 policy is done and dusted? I'll know to pick up the game then.

On the Pc hardware front I will be interested to see how Intel have progressed with Battlemage (though it's highly unlikely I will pick one up since i don't think the uplift in performance from a 6900XT, if there is any, will be worth it). Other than that it's just going to be reheated left overs from last year by the looks of things. So probably a meh year on the Pc hardware front.

I have little interest in the Switch itself. At this stage I think it's spent. I kinda just....don't want to play games on it any more. It's had a great run though. But I am keen to see what Nintendo are doing with the Switch 2. I also do have a backlog of Switch games to pick up whenever i get the 2 also. So that should get a fair amount of play time. Hopefully the BC support also enhances switch games in some way.

MS and Sony have announced nothing and are not indicating anything really interesting at this point so hard to say: unless the prospect of a PS5 Pro sounds exciting to anyone? I have no interest: pointless console if it does exist (the rumoured spec is also...yikes. Just rumours though of course.). Maybe there will be some interesting AI stuff perhaps.

....Well Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PC so that's nice. It will probably be late 2024 before i get around to it though....let Nixess get a bunch of patches out.

Retro, I'm more excited about my next retro pick up then I am for what's coming next year.

I think this year I bought the least amount of AAA games in a year, and 2024 looks like it will be the same.

Bingo, this is why I'm excited for the Retroid Pocket 4 and the Analogue 3D. Both companies make the best Retro devices on the market.

PC for me and not even gonna comment on Switch successor cause I don't know nothing about it and neither does Nintendo.

I'm buying the OG retro games for OG systems, I don't buy devices that play a lot of retro games on the one device, although I have thought about it.
