Xcloud needs to hurry up. They can't let Stadia continue its run.
Is Sega a big acquisition in 2021?
I really want Xbox to go big in 2021. The next gen launch has been suuuuuuper one-sided to this point.
@i_p_daily: lolxbox. Nothing but rumours, hopes and dreams
Caught my first cow, there's plenty more to come lol.

Have you played Streets of Rage 4?
Imagine if MS bought them and commissioned sequels to a lot of its old IP's, sure some will suck but like Streets 4, some will be gems.
As for Xcloud, well Stadia sucks the big one and even its biggest fan lasted 2 days creating new threads about it, no one even talks about it, its basically dead at this point, but being the Switch gamer that you are i can see why you want it.
Xbox is useless. its just mini PC. better get PC.
This coming from a guy who doesn't know he's a movie gamer, the one thing he claims to hate.
And one of SW rules is, if casual4ever doesn't like it then it must be good & vice versa :)
Should take any internet rumours with a healthy dose of sodium chloride, and probably some sodium lauryl sulphate as well, just in case they turn out wrong. That being said...
10. Trusting Brian Fargo and co with such a big budget seems like a big risk. On one hand, Wasteland games are alright. On the other, The Bard's Tale 4.
9. Well, we already know of Avowed, and probably The Outer Worlds sequel as well. I suppose they just like to keep their plate full.
8. Oh you tease.
7. Not very relevant to me, but with Google and Amazon entering the streaming market, it's no surprise they're shoring up their defences.
6. Hope they strip out some of the live service garbage for Forza Horizon 5. I predicted a 50/50 chance Starfield could go exclusive, so this is no surprise. If it does launch in 2021, it could make an otherwise lean-looking year for Xbox a bit more exciting. After how they ruined Youngblood, I have zero expectations for Wolfenstein 3.
5. Makes sense.
4. Also makes sense. If Microsoft can get the mass scaling they want with Gamepass, that could easily subsidise for the cost of running legacy online system.
3. They'll still have to honour the Deathloop exclusivity agreement with Sony, but beyond that, no surprise.
2. This has been rumoured for months. Wouldn't be surprised, considering Microsoft's obsession with breaking into the Japanese and East Asian markets.
1. Also, no surprise.
So, 6 "makes sense" or "no surprise," one semi-no surprise, one dubiously risky move, one dubious tease, and one mixed bag. Overall, not all that big a list, despite the claim.
What is that obscure website?
The big rumor I want to happen is Sony getting barred from big Zenimax games.
Yea, I don't really trust those obscure rumor sites. If it's mentioned on a mainstream site, then I take it more seriously. But there are so many of these 'rumor sites' out there for just about everything.
The one rumor that I've heard that I thought was interesting was MS acquiring Sega. But when I thought about it, not sure how much sense that would make. Sega owns a lot of Japanese centric IP's, and I don't think MS cares about that.

I'd imagine if MS bought Sega, that Yakuza & Persona would suddenly suck when it comes to you cows LOL.
"Xbox has already acquired two additional studios aside from Bethesda/Zenimax with one being large and the other being small."
I swear, if the big one is Fromsoft and the smaller one is Bluepoint i will......................................

Microsoft are pursuing a strategy that requires scaling to work; i.e. they need as many people to sign up for Gamepass as possible, as quickly as possible. Japanese IPs have significant following in East and Southeast Asia. They can't be fussy about which market they want to break into.
Not saying the rumour is true. It's just that in the context of what Microsoft are trying to do, acquiring Sega does make logical sense.

Acquiring Sega, IMO, would be a good move if it moved from rumor to fruition. Sega has a solid catalog of i.p.'s which just need some loving.

I think the problem is, outside of US and UK, Xbox brand is pretty much non-existent lol. It might piss off a lot of people if suddenly a foreign company came and locked their games behind a streaming service lol.

I think it's the other way around. Suddenly you'd be into those games 😉 Your boy Phil puts all Xbox games on PC, so I can still play them there.
If MS acquired Sega and helped them revive all their old ip they'd be doing the gaming world a big solid. If they acquired them and nothing changed then it's really not good or bad. Just... a thing that happened
I seriously don't want to see that happen, enough with the acquisitions!
@lebanese_boy: IF it helped them revive their great IP, I disagree. I'm a gamer. If it doesn't and is just a way to scoop up contemporary properties and lock them away from gamers then I agree
Option 2 will always apply.
Only way I can see an acquisition as a positive is if the company is on the verge of collapse/bankruptcy and isn't able to properly release games anymore.
Any other scenarios and, as a gamer, this shouldn't be seen as anything good. The rate that big companies are eating up smaller ones in the VG industry is starting to be a bit alarming. I don't want a future where all major games are released by the same 4-5 companies.
Goes without saying that rumours should be taken with a grain of salt but still some really juicy stuff in there. Looking forward to seeing if any of these come to fruition.

Can't forget prayers and wishes.

As a gamer - and a huge Sega fan - many of their greatest and most unique IP are MIA with no sign of resurrection. I'm sorry if I sounded confrontational but I want to see that change. So yeah - I stand by my vote. Just to be clear - as a gamer - I want Sega to remain independent. I'm sorry that didn't come across clearly. But IF it means IFFFFFFF it means they revive their great IP then it is what I want. As a gamer.
That would be big if MS acquired Sega. Maybe they are big on this service war thing still. Hope Google doesn't pay for GTA VI to be exclusive to Stadia because I would seriously not bother.
Not sure why the Sega rumour keeps being repeated, but it's very unlikely. Japanese laws are quite strict when it comes to foreign buyouts of major Japanese companies. And I can't think of any real precedent of a major Japanese game company being purchased by a foreign company.

It's just wishful thinking by certain people caught up in this transitory acquisition trend. Plus, anyone thinking that SEGA being bought would not only result in the reemergence of their older IP's, but getting a AAA budget too, is deluded.
@SolidGame_basic: No I still wouldn't play either Yakuza or Persona, you cows would suddenly hate them.
Is that your site, TC?
No never heard of it. It was in my news feed on my phone.
I bet most of the cows here have heard of it, as you loonies know more about Xbox than you do PS lol.
@i_p_daily: what a shill you are bro. Your website is poorly constructed to boot LOL. Xbox hopes, dreams and rumours. That’s all you have
@phlop_spencer: A shill for posting rumours?
A shill is you, one who will defend Sony to the bitter end, get banned, create an alt and comeback, do the same again, get banned again, and do it all over again like you are now.
Imagine naming yourself after someone you hate & and putting a spin on that name and thinking you're clever, i present you with phlop spencer 🤣🤣🤣
@xantufrog: No need to apologize I get where you're coming from, it's just that things in the industry are getting bad as it is now and with fewer and fewer major players this can only get worse IMO. I just prefer those companies, like you, to remain independent and not eventually have 4-5 companies dictating the whole industry.
@xantufrog: I only want MS to buy Sega if they revive old IP's. And if we look at MS in the last couple of years, Battletoads was revived and now they're reviving Perfect Dark & Fable, so they're slowly getting things right, I do need a sequel to Crimson Skies though.
As a Sega fanboy, i don't care about modern Sega games, (Yakuza & Persona) they suck, i want old games getting sequels.
@i_p_daily: I'm not sure what my top choices would be for revivals, but it would almost be hard to go wrong because there are so many good options. I like a number of Sega's new things, there are just so many classics that are inexplicably gone. And I really do think many would work well in modern markets freshened up with modern tech - it's not just "throw the old geezers a bone"
the exclusivity thing will never happen, this would a money loser for the Studio which gets MS anyway money and against Phill philosophy.
@i_p_daily: Battletoads was fucking awful and we know nothing about the latter two. At best, I think MS would put up more of the Saturn and Dreamcast library on XBL and steam, but I don't trust them at all for SEGA revitalization projects. Likely, they'd just fund their western RTS umbrella and provide a budget for a generic Ratchet & Clank-like 3D Sonic game. SEGA has done a good job revisiting their vault on their own over the last 4-5 years and are continuing to both produce and license out more IPs.
@alucrd2009: And yet Sony would make it exclusive and lose that money, but somehow MS needs that money lol.
MS has a shit ton more money, and has PC to help recoup costs.
Also MS would have to give Sony a cut of each game sold on their console.
And then there's gamepass, how are they going to convince people to get gamepass if they give Sony the games, there would be no point in buying Bethesda to keep all games multiplat, makes 0 sense.
@i_p_daily: Sony covers the "loses" by selling more units from their platform, this would not be the same case for Xbox.
i wont see Microsoft changing this policy to make it exclusive to their platform anytime soon but if it is would be after Phill leaving them as it would be a big hit for what he said.
only time will tell.
@xantufrog: Yeah im not a fan of Sega's direction (game wise) since Dreamcast.
As someone who grew up loving everything Sega i could rattle off a 100 games at the drop of a hat i would love to see, but i don't think a lot need to be modernised, (not 100% sure what you meant by modern tech) they can still go the shall we say indie route in terms of graphics style.
9 sounds interesting, Obsidian are always capable of pulling something amazing out of the bag. More hopeful than confident but if I was a betting man I'd put money on them.
I don't know why people here think Sega is still relevant when Sega had turned into a studio of bums who couldn't release one of their dormant IP games to save their lives. I'm a former Sega fan, I for one would like to see Sega/MS merge together but that's a pipe man's dream. Nintendo would be the obvious merger and after all these years, Nintendo can't even buyout Sega for whatever reason.
