What is really funny is that most of those games were terrible flops or bad 360 ports. Â What's even more funny is that the trend continues even after 2 years have gone by.
All of that for the low price of $600. Â
Doesn't sound very logical to me.Â
Pimpshigity21
The PS3 is no longer $600 mr. xbot. Gets your facts straight. Also, bad ports are developers issues, not the PS3, for example, Oblivion and Burnout 3 are all great ports on the PS3. Oh wait, what's the point of explaining to a huge fanboy like you... Nevermind.
Nothing can beat the sheer number of PS2s which have failed. Remeber, it took YEARS upon YEARS until a class-action lawsuit was filed... then Sony finally figured out that they should help the people out. Before then, people had to pay (including me) $150 to get their PS2 fixed. Microsoft showed class and fixed the problem, extended the warranty, and took the billion dollar hit to help the gamers. Stevo_the_gamer
Wow...$150? That much? You can almost buy a 360 with that much money in today's market. And cows have the audacity to come here and talk about MS and the RROD?
Edit: To be fair, I don't think MS took a 1 billion dollar hit to help the gamers.  But hey, I'm glad they did take that hit (otherwise I would have been forced to buy a PS3 :P ).Â

The RROD is but 1 of the many problem's that plague the 360
If you get
1 red light ( general hardware failure)
E74
Scratched games
does Microsoft replace/fix any of the above ? Is it covered in the 3 year warranty? NO
Unlike you i own both and its not the first time i had to buy a game twice because of the 360s crappy disc tray
I have a Launch X-box 360 and my tray is not ejecting sometimes and it'll scratch DVDs, they wanted me to pay for it to repair this. All that isn't covered from the 3 year warranty. At least for the PS2, you can get a new drive and replace it yourself. To this on the 360, you need to flash firmwares and stuff. Obviously Microsoft doesn't want you to touch anything inside.Â

I know many people who had the RROD (a couple had it more than once, don't know what they are doing to their 360s), but I don't know anyone with the so called E74 or your one red light.  I've never had a disk scratched by my 360s (the original and the replacement).  I know I've had to replace music CDs which I play on my Sony CD (I have 3 of them) players? Does that mean that Sony stereo components suck? I guess I'll buy Onkyo next time...Â

Your probably one of those people that buys 5 x-box 360's to move the Console sales up. lolI have four, does that count. I actually use all four. I also have two PS3's is it for driving sales up? No. I just like the systems and buy em cause I want to and I can.I have had my PS2 since Christmas the year it came out, and it still works fine (my sister uses it as a DVD player), So not all of PS2's failed. My brothers were on there third system when they finally got a 360 3 months ago
The first one broke becaue the dog walked over one of the cords and pulled it down form the entertainment center I'm not sure but I think there second one broke because one of them spilled coke on it, then my dad tried taking it apart and ruined it. And I think there third one just quit working.
Â
I do not have a 360 so I cannot comment on there reliabiltiy personally, but from what I have seen/heard they are not the most reliable console out there currently but one thing I do not get is all the PS3 bashing, this thread was not about PS3's games, etc its about the systems reliablity

That sucks dude...I really mean it. But I don't know how a tray not opening can scratch a DVD. I've heard enough about scratched disks to know that some of you guys are not lying. I treat my disks with extreme care (my music CDs, not so much...mobility is important and I can always replace them for cheap).   Tread your DVDs with care, is all I can say.

"Microsoft's conduct in selling and marketing Xbox 360s with DVD drives that damage game discs, DVDs and CDs along with Microsoft's failure to disclose the existence of the defect in the DVD drives and Microsoft's failure to repair or replace all Xbox 360s with defective DVD drives is a breach of the implied terms of the product warranty as well as Microsoft's obligation of good faith and fair dealing,"

nope I have been gaming for 20+ years and this console has been the most fun....games, XBL, connectiviy with my PC etc
Good thing most people don't agree with that PoV. And nothing you can say can convince me that you didn't start gaming this gen if you believe the 360 is the best console in history.
I agree. XBOX is the best console i've ever had. No doubt. It's an opinon, nothing you can say will make it less valid. What makes older consoles better? Shoddy 2-D graphics? I've had multiple hard disk failures with various PCs over the years. I guess the PC sucks as a gaming platform. I just hope Onkyo comes out with a PC in the near future. Untill then, I'm seeling my Lenovo and I'm gonna buy a Mac.

given that this is MS 2nd console, and that PS2 was Sony's 2nd as well I don't think this is weird at all. i expected it to be honest. next gen is the big one - if MS manages to mess it up it'll be more of an issue. but we can look at sales and cleary see RROD hasn't had a major impact if at all. it's basically just hardcore fanatics or the misinformed that would let it affect their purchase decisions imo.Â

too bad that just doesn't happen anymore - was with the first gen drives. again, same as PS2 gen - but PS2 gen launch console failure rate was like 60% :) thats why sony got sued!!! haha."Xbox 360 can cause scratches without moving the console"

Actually no if anything the PS2 will take that title. There was a point that the failure rates of a PS2 surpassed the 360's. Also microsoft is atleast nice about the RRoD sony are jerks and wanted people to PAY for a new laser AND they had to assemble it themselves.
