Xbox360 or PS3 = MORE $$$ than PC gaming

How any of you can claim that console gaming is cheaper than PC gaming boggles my mind:

$400

$250 for 5 year Xbox-Live (Optional)

$1000 HDTV (Must have if you want HD. If not the console sucks and is a waste of money. Monitor is not an option because graphics are washed out, scaled horribly, and are often incompatible on PC monitors. They are barely any better than SDTV, which is crap.)

=$1400-1650 (Depending on whether you want live)

PS3:

$600

$1000 HDTV (I don't think the PS3 even ALLOWS you to use a monitor).

=$1600

Top of the line PC I built about a month ago:

8800GTS/AsusP5WDH/E6600/2GBPC6400 RAM. Could probably run Crysis maxed @ 1680x1050.

PC has Unreal Tournament 3, Bioshock, Spore, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Supreme Commander, Crysis, Hellgate London, World in Conflict, Haze, Quake Wars, Alan Wake, Assassin's Creed and Overlord. Best lineup for 2007.

See, the argument FOR consoles used to be that you could get (almost) PC-level quality in your graphics for several hundred dollars cheaper.

Now, the argument is working AGAINST 360 and PS3, since it is much cheaper now to get a sweet setup on PC.

Game selection (both in quantity and quality)? PC wins

An "online arcade"? Um...it's called the internet. PC wins.

Control scheme? Mouse and keyboard still remains the most accurate and complex setup out there for games, bar none.

Multimedia features? ... It's a PC, for cryin' out loud!

and also u know ps3 u can use SD monitors,  it works with both,  so u could stick with that price tag of $600.  and it's not like getting and HDTV is so big, everyone will have to do it in a few yrs when all broadcast television switches to only HD.  man u should realy know what u r talking about before u start these threads.  Also with ur PC u'll need over a gig of RAM, and that also is about $1000.  i got a $1000 PC just 8 months ago and it could not stand up to ps3 or 360, i play oblivion on it and the lag kills the game.  i can't stand to play it with so much lag.

Xbox 360 on monitor is FAIL. Looks like crap because the VGA hookup is GARBAGE. Too bad console gamers can't read, otherwise they would know that I had already explained this.

Also: I have every reason to believe I could get Crysis near max (NOT RESOLUTION MAXED, BUT SETTINGS). I have this thing overclocked to above GTX speeds.
