and the PS3 will own the Xbox soo hard with MGS4TheMetalSquid
dream on the fact of the matter is , msg4 (one game) could not help the ps3 with all the bad press, the only thing that could help the ps3 now imo is if BLU-ray won the format war and everyone went out to buy the best and cheapest player the ps3.
however this could not stop the bad software sales in fact it would make it worse ending in the death of the ps3 as a game console :(
I'm sure its a great game but even if you get all the stars its 30 hours tops then a trade in. Unless they have timed runs and an online ranking system and you are completely obsessed with playing it.[QUOTE="bretthorror"]SMG owned all you guys, and it wasn't even close.JiveT
I have 79 stars and I'm 25 hours in. The game is so good I'll replay it the second I am done. I know, it can't compare to the 360 games that you can finish on your lunch break, but...
Um, "true" gamers are not biased fanboys like some people. And by the way, Bioshock, AC, and orange box are multiplats.halo 3 , mass effect, bioshock, assassins creed, the orange box

That's why multiplayer is a big part of most 360 games. Then you got achievement hunting...all kinds of gameplay hours to dig out of each game. Jump in friend! :)

I understand what you're saying there, but personally I consider that a cop out. I think a strong single player mode stands the test of time whereas a lot of games that rely on online play will die out. It's ok if you spend a lot of time online, but not so much otherwise. I love my 360, but my main problem is the short games. To me, I will replay a classic until I die, and I just don't forsee a game like Halo 3, as great as it is online, carrying over too far once Halo 4 is released or even the next console.
Anyone know if people still play Halo 2 online?

You are mistaken. The Wii owned 2007. In case you didn't realize it, nintendo is in the lead.
as far as games, there were a lot of good games released PERIOD. not just for 360, but across all platforms. 3 of the games you mentioned can be played elsewhere.
If you only own one system and bash all others, you are not a true gamer.

Yeah but, Assassins Creed and Orange Box are on the PS3. Mass Effect is only .5 better than Uncharted. And Bioshock and Halo 3 were not released in the end of 2007, more like coming towards the end.halo 3 , mass effect, bioshock, assassins creed, the orange box

people played halo 2 for 3 years before halo 3. Why wouldnt there just be a natural progression to the new game? And btw, lmfao SMG is only one game. both mass effect and assassins creed have just as long if not longer single player campiegns anyway.

doesn't matter, its still on top, and still selling out everywhere. I'm not a Wii supporter either(I still say its a repackaged gamecube with motion controls), but facts are facts. The software sales are not keeping the system from selling. Install base is what determines the winner of a generation, not software sales.

Nintendo doesn't care if casuals don't play them after they buy them. They still made the sale, and are making a killing off of each system sold. I do not like that shovelware games have been made popular by the Wii any more than you do, fact of the matter is, the Wii owned 2007,and that is a fact.
From a gamers perspective the 360 and PS3 are on top because they offer games that cater to the hardcore gamer(basically everyone on this site). The reality is, casuals make up the majority, and the Wii has captured them in spades. Next year may be a different story, but this year definitely belongs to the Wii(not interested in console or software sales really, just stating facts)
 no it isn't you crybaby. Even if you disregard a second playthrough (with luigi) it's still a huge game. It's far longer than many 360 games for exampleI'm sure its a great game but even if you get all the stars its 30 hours tops then a trade in. JPOBS
Assassin's Creed is not in the same league as SMG by a long shot.
Why wouldn't there be natural progression? Well that supports my theory of basically buying 360 games to use for a year or two as maps, essentially. The single player campaign needs to rule all.

I am pretty sure this lack of software focus is really going to hurt Nintendo in 08.Right now the fad is buy buy buy cheap cheap cheap.
I do believe when the prices drop a tad bit more we are going too see MS and Sony topple Wii pretty quickly.

Actually it very much is.
I say that with anger too as I had high hopes of this game failing....I dont know why either...I just hate it for some reason.
You're right, but I'd list the games as:
PGR4
Halo 3
CoD4
Assassins Creed
Eternal Sonata
VF5
Mass Effect
Guitar Hero 3
The Orange Box
Bioshock
Yes, there are a lot of multiplats, but only one platform has them all :D

Theres a difference between doctered and posed shots ... Halo 3 had its share of posed shots and at the end of the day its not that great for this gen graphically.

Drifts off into a nightmare Mario 2010 Princess missing again no plot good platforming best thing since sliced bread.....
Oh my god imagine the horror constant rehased rubbish cheap games constant child like graphics, cars do not exist only spaceships and go Karts, Mushrooms come to life and look the same for ever no matter how far in the future you go plumbers become crazed manics who jump on peoples heads.
