Xbox360 update impressions

A few hours ago , Facebook, last fm and zune video HD appeared on my dashboard, and here are my impressions

Facebook- Although you can not change your profile or send messages, you can view , post and reply to messages,you can also look at profiles and pictures,so overall pretty good.

Zune video HD - I was a bit of a sceptic on this one, so I downloaded the teaser trailer of avatar in fll 1080p, and it takes about 10 seconds tesating your connection, tomake sure it can stream and sure enough mine was good,and just like that, it streamed beautiful high defintion with no hitches at all !!!

Last FM - navigates very well, easy and quick to find radio stations, overall brilliant.

Great Additions to Xbox live

If there was no hype at E3, it wouldn't be an issue I guess. It's not that I don't like "Free Updates", I don't like the lack of Gamer Utilities, and I don't like the direction of these updates.

I agree with the XBOX LIVE MANAGER about this Xbox Live update.

This in addition tot he new Sky Player has pushed my trey aside as multimedia machine for the house.

very happy with the update. Although i expect Facebook and Last FM to be improved over time.

Sure, I already plan on doing an official test soon, but we both know it's not going to be HD Blu-Ray quality...as a techie I do like to do fun comparison's though, I want to see how this compares to the HD that is already offered, and the HD that is available on PSN.

In a year when M$ didn't much spend any money at all for new games or timed exclusives, and we got ODST using old Halo 3 assets, I just was hoping for NXE level. I know E3 shattered that dream when this was all anounced, making this last years E3 one of the worst shows I've ever seen for M$ looking back.

That being said, I look forward to 2010, and Long delayed, older than KZ2 development time, ALAN WAKE to change my perception all around.

I don't know what you are talking about with regards to GT, Gran Turismo 5? That's right, it's old too, like Splinter Cell, and Too Human I guess, although Alan Wake was offically announced before GT5, was it not?

EDIT : I just looked it up. ALAN WAKE was E3 2005, GT5 was E3 2006...Guess you didn't know your stuff about that.

Not that it matters, I have Forza 3 to play till then.

Forza 3 : Wow, great job, srsly.

ODST : Disappointing price considering engine and assets used, Firefight lacks matchmaking, short. Fun but not Halo worthy according to most of the worlds' critics, which I agree. That being said, it's good, and I did beat it on Legendary on my first playthrough.

Shadow Complex : Great DL title, short, but I dug it

I'm sure 2009 is all in my head...that being said FORZA 3 and DL XBLA title Shadow complex were the year's best. They were great, but weren't enough, imho. I know as a human on this planet, you feel differently. That's fine with me.

MS need to release the Zune HD for the rest of the world already.

Yeah, that's fine. I'm sure I would much rather look at Gamespot's scores, Metacritic, or whatever, but you are right about people's opinions. I'm obviously thinking BIG, but eh, whatever, who cares.

Apparently you are of the notion that ODST development and overall sales philosophy represents the future of console gaming, and if you are correct about MOST People's opinions (Reviewers disagree, but whatever) then I guess we can look forward to a new era of gamers ushered in with the mentality that represents ODST's game development. Sweet. I'm sure companies will be very, very happy to see that opinion spread. Activision and all others will be very happy to hear that.

I never claimed it was a good year or a bad year, im debating wether you ever have anything good to say about the 360. Which i have not seen, and doubt i will.

Cred in system Wars is worth nothing, to anyone. Obviously it's a big part of your life, as i often see you touting your gamerscore, and time on system Wars like a badge of honour.

I am actually of the same opinion, but have a better way to go about it. If i feel the 360 is doing crap, i'll just say itm instead of lurking, waiting for an opportunity to put it down.

I knew what you were rubbing at with your argument, I just didn't take the bait.;) Luckily, I mentioned ACTIVISION, because they will be please to see the new ideas behind uber sales, and relatively super low cost of development. It's a beautiful business oportunity, obviously. That's fine...to bad I'm talking about gamers and what they should want out of their console manufacturer.

I already said I love FORZA and Shadow Complex, and I've said countless times before 360 is my most played console this generation...oh wait, you've only been here for four months, I guess I don't say it often enough. :|

As far as lurking, this update blows, and I am saying it, I'm not waiting for any opportunities. That's just funny, I would rather people look at this with me, rather than lurk or whatever. I post all the time, and no one is going to agree 100% with 100% of my posts, but I say it like I see it no matter what. I'm prized for my honesty, just like in real life. I'm probably the most honest person you've ever met, without realizing it. I do obviously think highly of my honesty, but who cares what I think. Here's what really matters, play your games and live it up.

He made the conversation personal, to make it seem legitimate, and made a claim about me being sly. Don't you fret about that, obviously a 4 month account is just what it is. I'm not sly, I say it like I feel it in that post. Stop assuming all accusations are credible, that's a huge mistake.

This is about an update, Stats just has more on his mind, and I am letting him steer the conversation for my own reason's. Doesn't mean his claims are valid.

However, I can talk about the update. Read my post on page one, it's exactly how I feel on the matter. It doesn't measure up to NXE, it is a move to casual audience, and i'm disappointed.

I'm not the only one, the Xbox Live Manager said he doesn't like the update either.:o

See I would disagree I think the update caters quite nicely to your average xbox fan with the friends integration and the social aspect of gaming being paramount to Live, this update I feel is a nice addition and expansion to the service and again disappointed with a free update? and about the sly thing I dunno to me it read like a kinda dig but maybe I'm infering something thats not there, still I dont see how you could be disappointed with it I mean if i had the choice to have it or not have it I'd have it see what I'm getting at.

Sky player is the most amazing thing to ever happen to a console. When i realized there were literally hundreds of movies for me to watch for free, instant-on, whenever i want, i nearly had a heart attack. Ever since that update i've just been watching movies all day every day. :PDoctor-McNinja

I'm not against Free Updates at all, no siree bob! I'm disappointed with the entire direction these updates are taking in general.I don't see this as a free item who cares, I see this as a great opportunity that was bypassed to appeal to the masses.

I'm just disappointed with the direction. In fact, just read my first post, and that's that. This is getting out of hand.

I was disappointed since the E3 announcement, and I don't expect fundamental changes, but I did expect a direction I could endorse.
