Xenoblade Chronicles - GameStop's #1 Most Anticipated-All Platforms

As the title says, Xenoblade Chronicles is currently the #1 Most Anticipated game across all platforms on both GameStops home page and most anticipated/sorted by best selling list. INB4 GS HATE, I think this bodes well for the games chances at commercial relevance over here and future localization of quality core titles on the Wii U. The UK already matched up Japan's sales of the game, so a strong presence here should be good.

Do you think this game will maintain it's anticipation leading up to launch? Most people here have been pretty mum about it despite the majority of Wii owners on this site not being able to play it yet.

So what say you, Operation Rainfall peeps, have you pre-ordered Xenoblade yet?

Obligatory system wars comment: Futher solidification of the Wii's status as the console champion of most highly rated exclusives this gen, everyone but PC am cry.

Still, I wouldn't expect it to do THAT well, but hopefully it does. I have it pre-ordered and it is easily one of, if not the most anticipated game of the year for me :).

It's still a core game on a dead console that generally doesn't produce a lot of launch hype for core games. I think it's impressive :P Especially considering a lot of the people that really wanted it imported it already (like myself), so their potential sales are already less than what they would have been if it launched last year.

I think it's surprising just because the operation rainfall signature support thing had absolutely zero substance to it. People could sign the thing saying they'll buy it when they didnt even have a Wii, the amazon pre-orders could be cancelled at any time, etc. I'm just surprised that Xenoblade on the WII of all consoles is beating out: Resident Evil, Diablo III, Borderlands 2, Assassins Creed III, etc.

I still got to preorder Xenoblade Chronicles.

Not surprised unless you want to play Mario Party 9 or Pokepark 2, there won't be anything left to play on the Wii outside of The Last Story and Xenoblade. Good thing that they are good games.FlamesOfGrey

Yeah, still waiting on Fatal Frame 4 which will never happen in the U.S. most likely. EU might get lucky there.

Monolith deserves it! I am glad this game was a success for them, as to where Baten kaitos was kind of left out in the dust, which is a shame.

I will be playing the game while you think about how much the game will sell :)

also i do hope it does well, its been the top seller at amazon.ca since Jan of this year not to mention my local EB mentioned they got over 30 pre-orders for the game

There's really no use. He isnt a JRPG fan moreso that he is a cow. Instead of setting $200 asside for a Wii with Xenoblade and The Last Story, which are among the highest rated JRPGs this gen (Xenoblade is THE highest) Im sure he'd rather get a few subpar JRPGs for the PS3.

Sigh guys you really think its that easy to drop about $300 ( wii plus 2 games at $50) all at once? i just got a Vita and bunch of games so im in no way or a position to get another console or its games.. do i want to play the 2 games? i sure do!! if i had a wii i would have pre-ordered both! but i cant really afford one for now.

Hopefully in the near future but you guys enjoy the games, im sure they are awesome! heck both of my PS3 theme AND my laptop backgroup are from xenoblade and pandora tower and as you know both are wii games. i love their art style and i been hearing some amazing things about these games

I know you are not into getting used things but still late in this gen you can always buy a used wii I bought mine 9 months ago for 50$ and its worth it I've been playing on it more than any system recently.

Ordered this a few days ago, even though it's been available to us Australians for awhile. There is just too much hype and too limited a release to let this pass by for now. I had planned on getting it anyway. Now that I've ordered it I really started to take a good look at some videos and information and I am genuinely hyped to play it (once this semester and exams are out of the way...).
