My body is so ready for this game! Never played the Wii U version tho I owned it at some point lol. Who else is hyped for Xenoblade Chronicles X this week? Will you be picking it up? What are your predictions? Hm.. I’m going to go with 8 GS 85 MC.
GS - 10
MC - 89
Played the Wii U version and loved it. Really looking forward to playing this Switch version as well. It’s a Day One purchase for me.
For all those who haven't played the game and are getting it for the first time: Know that I do not like you. 🤬😋.
Probably an 8 by GS reckoning.
I won't be getting it as I already completed it on the Wiiu. The extra content isn't worth the full asking price. But I definitely do recommend it. Great game.
I really liked X, but the Wii U double screen experience makes it inevitably the superior version.
But Switch is portable! Switch should win, right?
@SolidGame_basic: Well, the Wii U kinda also was, and it was a worse game in that mode. But playing it on the go is still totally worth it, but the superior version will always be the original.
About to start this series. Got a lotta work before I get to X.
Just in case you are not aware: X is separate from 1, 2 and 3. You don't need to play the others to play this.
To be honest you could play 1, 2 and 3 in any order too (and I recommend avoiding 2). About 85% of those games are very loosely linked and what links are there are told in such a way that could see them in any order.
Gamespot will randomly give it a 6. Probably an 84 on Metacritic.
I enjoyed the WiiU version but never finished it. I think I still have a voucher to use, so maybe I'll pick this up this week.

I’ve got a bunch of work travel over the next month or two, so I should have plenty of time to play this game. I gotta to my best to finish it by May because life is gonna have me BUSY.

Good to know, thanks. FWIW, I played Xenogears a while back. Absolutely loved it.
@osan0: X was my first Xenoblade, and I loved every second. Still think it has goat open world level design.
Then played 2 hoping to enjoy it and I gave up on it. It ended up killing my curiosity for the series.
@nod_eclipse_:I never played the Xenogears games. They are on the backlog. I'm not sure who has the rights but, since we are in remake/remaster mania, maybe whoever does own the IP will dust it off again. I hear mixed opinions on them but glad to hear a positive impression.
@theformless: Don't let 2 put you off the series. 1 and 3 are still excellent. 1 has the best story that is relatively grounded until the last 20% or so (even then not too bad by JRPG standards). 3 has the best characters and the story and gameplay are also good. 2 was....eh...yeah. Mistakes were made. A demonstration of wasted potential. I soldiered on to the end thinking "at some point this will come good". I loved 1 and X so was really hoping 2 would deliver. I can safely say you didn't miss out on anything by not finishing it. I do love the soundtrack for 2 but that's really it's only positive imho.
While Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was the weaker of the XC games I still enjoyed it. If I’d rank them I’d probably go:
1. Xenoblade Chronicles
2. Xenoblade Chronicles X
3. Xenoblade Chronicles 3
4. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
@lundy86_4: oh snap, thought you were a digital gamer??
Only on PC. Consoles are always physical if I can.
The way to go!
DestructoidInstead of going the easy route, Monolith Soft went the extra mile and added meaningful new content and quality-of-life features that actually improved on what was already a masterpiece experience. The Definitive Edition treatment makes Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition one of the best JRPGs on the Switch, and a must-play for fans of the genre.
So awesome to read this.

I like digital for PC and Switch. Physical for the other 2.
But for this game I got physical.
My copy is expected to arrive tomorrow! Also getting the free metal poster from Best Buy for preordering lol.
I'll get the superior, 4k/60+ version 😋
It's funny you say that...
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition features a hidden 60 FPS mode in the game's executable but doesn't function properly https://t.co/GXBVceyug9pic.twitter.com/uNTZlpC9dB

Switch 2 getting a 60fps mode?!
I have never played a Xenoblade game.. Is this game a good place to start?
If you like open world games like Zelda BOTW then start with this one. If you like more story driven linear games start with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition (part1). Trust me this is the only real right answer to your question. They are all on Switch so if you get into it, you are in for a real fun time!
@miquella: I agree and feel like gamers in general didn't gave it enough credits for what it does with world design.

ill start with this one, thanks
Do they all follow a story? or is it different story for each game, not connected?
Got my copy!!
Same. Probably gonna have to wait until the weekend.
Same.

They each have different stories and yet they are also connect. (I know that sounds cryptic but I do not want to spoil it for you.) If you ever decide to play 1-3 I HIGHLY urge you to do it in order.
